Re: Airbus A350 Production/Delivery Thread 2018

The in service performance of Qatar A35k has been very good since starting with e cellent punctuality on DOH-LHR daily plus DOH - KWI sectors most mornings. This suggests no significant issues with either airframe or engines.

This was not a commercial flight. It is part of a test programme securing type certification. Hence many of the “rules” are put aside. The necessary bureaucracy of line flying not valid here.

The A320neo LR has a lower cruise speed. This was evident on JFK trip and now from SEZ. I think someone said the aerodynamics are designed primarily for short to medium hauls plus additional weight from the three extra fuel tanks.

Yes let us go for a complete European ban between 2330-0630 except for real emergency situations. It will be a level playing for all with passengers and airlines easily adjusting. Whilst causing some diseconomies it will highlight the need for daytime capacity and for extra runway and terminal along...

Seems a great pity that the very marked performance improvements associated with the 350/330/320 series haven't cascaded into the A380 within Airbus. STC pleas ignored. Not sure if BA/SAA have a Pool Agreement allowing SAA to share revenues in a proportion that differs from capacity deployed. Alternative is some “dangeld” payments to SAA. Given UK capacity and feeds both in LHR/CPT/JNB would have thought some protection in place for SAA.
