And a month after the prang still seems to be in Bournemouth! Hopefully repairs being combined with major check! Expensive outage given overall long haul fleet looks rather pushed at present!

This must be pretty expensive damage or specialist team needed as another week in Bournemouth. It flew back from JFK pressurised in normal flight profile ......where is the damage?

Flight profile back from JFK looks normal. BA source confirms planned and maintenance related following AOG 10 days at JFK. Any ideas why grounded so long?

I wonder when BA will be back to Doha as flights have been cancelled since March 2018 following ad hoc operations in the previous six months. Seems to have withdrawn as serious ME player

Any information as to how the A350-1000 performing in service? It appears Qatar frames pretty punctual but CX seem frequently well adrift of schedule .....could CX use it as substitute aircraft on regionals so ad hoc ....hopefully once deployed on long haul routes figures will improve.

Will SQ ULH -900 undertake an extended flight ahead of delivery. I cannot recall any of the standard airframes doing any and on EIS they undetook commercial flights much greater than test frames. So what weather minima do QR use with their -1000? Assume CAT1. Seems restricting especially as that frame has accumulated around 13 hours a day since EIS albeit just to and from LHR( must have had several days with pretty bad weather). Cost is very difficult to define! It can be apples or pears! A carrier or leasing company will use varying criteria to define “cost” in their individual settings. Interesting comment re ETOPS being pushed too far and places excessive load on remaining engine. I wonder if there is any source giving the number of occassions when an aircraft has had to use ETOPS for real? Would that source show the type of occassion and situation i.e how long it was in diversion...

The in service performance of Qatar A35k has been very good since starting with e cellent punctuality on DOH-LHR daily plus DOH - KWI sectors most mornings. This suggests no significant issues with either airframe or engines.

GF biggest problem is essentially commercial planning and marketing.They have always struggled on these issues. -1000 EIS with QR going smoothly with extra sectors DOH-KWI pushing daily utilisation to around 15hours. Bet they can’t wait to to extra copies in service! Hope AB give full update on performance at nex5 financial briefing.

MSN2 CF enroute TLS-SCL...believe she has cabin fit so demo tour? Has done little flying of late so assume has had some of latest mods. Thought this frame was one that would be sold at some point.

This was not a commercial flight. It is part of a test programme securing type certification. Hence many of the “rules” are put aside. The necessary bureaucracy of line flying not valid here.

The A320neo LR has a lower cruise speed. This was evident on JFK trip and now from SEZ. I think someone said the aerodynamics are designed primarily for short to medium hauls plus additional weight from the three extra fuel tanks.

Yes let us go for a complete European ban between 2330-0630 except for real emergency situations. It will be a level playing for all with passengers and airlines easily adjusting. Whilst causing some diseconomies it will highlight the need for daytime capacity and for extra runway and terminal along...

With a very large fleet of differing sizes and capacity one 77W really not substantial! Yes, you have automatic cover in scheduling broadly applying last in first out but when you get a couple going down problems quickly arise. Rescue missions as with current JNB issue very costly and in themselves ...

See G-XLEC stuck in JNB since 08 due rejected takeoff. Looks like another engine change? Rather busy time to have one down and I think another is in MNL undergoing major check. BA has always operated a tight aircraft utilisation programme but with 787 issues, tired 747s and densification programmes ...

Very impressed with SQ31/32 SIN-SFO-SIN long sector lengths and rarely off schedule, normally early arrivals both ends! This operation demonstrates the excellence of the A350-900!
