Southwest does reasonably well at MHT, but their overall numbers are falling, the worst case scenario for Manchester would be a large reduction in WN service as a result of falling pax numbers. Cutting down to 3x / day to BWI or cutting Florida flights would be near apocalyptic for MHT. I didn't se...Jump to post
By far the best places to see the B-52 would be Barksdale AFB in Louisiana and Minot AFB in North Dakota, the only two bases where they're stationed. For the B-1, Dyess AFB in Texas and Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota are the places to go. And, Whiteman AFB in Missouri is your go-to for the B-2. I un...Jump to post

I’m sure although those short RJ flights to EWR are so brutal for delays when EWR has weather.
Southwest then has less competition and jacks up prices (no longer a low-cost airline, at least definitely not out of MHT), which only drives more leakage to BOS. It is a troubling trend here at MHT, and even the most pessimistic among us felt things would turn around long ago. But as far as Southw...Jump to post
Lots of doom and gloom written about MHT. That said, I think AA is actually growing at MHT. There is no reason UA shouldn't be, except for themselves. They don't have a focus city at BOS and little reason to want to send MHT flyers there because they may defect to other airlines. That was my point:...Jump to post
For MHT to say a positive. I would think a shift to IAD is a win for most flyers. EWR is much worse on delays in winter and all year really. IAD is the better place to connect for most people more of the time. Does the fact that the CRJ700 has a first class cabin help with the yields verse the EWR ...Jump to post
I see that BGR is losing its flights to JFK at the end of November which leaves Delta and AA only to LGA and UA to EWR, which now MHT is dropping EWR for IAD which leaves no service to the NYC metro area. I would hate to be a business located in Manchester that has business in NYC...now they have t...Jump to post

Pima is one of the best aviation museums in the world. The 777 and the 787 are the tip of the iceberg in terms of exhibits.
As a longtime PASM member, I thank you for the compliment.
That’s great to hear! Went to Pima last November great museum. Now I’ll definitely have to go back. How does PIMA compare to Udvar-Hazy? Udvar-Hazy takes the cake, but Pima has some good stuff like being able to walk in the DC4 Air Force One that JFK used and cool things like that. Theres also A10s...Jump to post
New director starts October 1st. He did mention that Manchester’s fees were high for its size. He definitely wants to lower those fees.Jump to post

Rainy days make the mind wonder sometimes. With AA seeming to be the only airline right now somewhat interested in Manchester would a flight to PHX or DFW work? As mentioned before it would be nice to have a Midwest flight out of the snow belt. How did Southwest do on the PHX route back when they la...Jump to post
A local Manchester New station contacted WN. WN mentioned that they were happy for Manchester and that cargo was up 60%.Jump to post
With UA ORD flight from MHT axed (hopefully not for too long) why would WN go less than daily to MDW? I would of thought the Southwest would of seen a opportunity to add a flight or larger aircraft but they did the complete opposite by reducing flight and no flight at all on Sundays. I call it the ...Jump to post

On October 13 I am scheduled to fly from Fort Myers to Manchester on DL. My booking was RSW-LGA-MHT. But I have discovered that they've switched me to RSW-ATL-MHT, and the ATL-MHT leg is shown as a 737-700. But I'm hearing from someone on our FB spotters page that it may actually end up being a 737...Jump to post

I’d like to see “Boston” go as well from the name. Just try and do it in a way to not spends all kinds of money changing signage wall coverings etc. keep the same logo and everything just as renovations happen just change it to “Manchester airport”.Jump to post
Thanks for the advice everyone. A family member told me that Death Valley wasn’t that great I’m glade to here otherwise. I was hoping to get to Fremont Street. Any suggestions on parking for the strip? I was thinking the MGM garage on Tropicana ave looks like an easy in and out.Jump to post
I’ve gotten good ideas here in the past about planing up coming trips so I’ll give it a try again. Heading to LAS for the first time at the end of September for three and a half days. I arrive around 1 pm on the first day I was planning on visiting the strip on this day. I had a day trip to Death Va...Jump to post
Not to be overly pessimistic about MHT, but what are the odds of UA pulling out entirely? In 2 weeks UA's presence at Manchester will be just 2-3x daily to EWR with ERJ-145s. That's a "token" presence if I've ever seen one. I think the chances are good. I’d never go through EWR to get any...Jump to post

I know of some airports that struggle because the businesses are publicly traded or have government contracts and are not able to provide financial support. A.net tends to have blinders on for airports and only thinks in terms of passenger service. In my opinion, MHT has a greater chance of being t...Jump to post
