I could see DL launching LAX-CLT any day now. Beyond that, I'm not sure how they would make a focus city out of CLT when RDU is right now the road. Perhaps maybe some point to point new routes like CLT-RDU/BOS/CLE/BDL/MCO/MSY depending on what corporate contracts they can pick up on. Recall there i...Jump to post
77W will be retrofitted next year, and as far as I know the 77W stored at AUH which was returned to the lessor months ago, will join LATAM fleet again, making a total of 10. Will they have the 2-2-2 configuration in J that LATAM has chosen for the A350s and 787s, or will we see something more in li...Jump to post
Hello, This is my first proper post and as my username implies I can't think of a better thread to start with. I'd like to touch on some points I've seen here in no particular order. The New Concourse A Gate Usage Southwest: A26, A24. Notes: Southwest usually RONs 3 aircraft with one on a hardstand...Jump to post
Ehh. For a low-cost/charter it could be worse. That being said, the old one was somewhat elegant and this is...not.
Also, is this entirely in the Latin alphabet? I can imagine some having problems (Or is the airline always written in Latin alphabet?)
Doesn't auto traffic have to do a bit with it? Similar to all the DTW-México flights?Jump to post
I'm just thinking of what may happen if I actually need to get real work done and 160 other people are using all the limited bandwidth on YouTube. Until bandwidth manages to get better on planes, I actually think a paywall helps keep traffic clear for business travelers for whom wifi is a deciding f...Jump to post
AA flies CLTCUR. It started last year, IINM. Yep. Insel is no longer at CLT though. As far as future narrowbody int'l destinations from CLT: YVR (summer seasonal, cruise traffic) LIM (connect to LATAM's hub there) MTY (automotive traffic?) KEF (pre-emptive strike against WOW and FI) CUR (weekend be...Jump to post
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Yeah, it’s always a depressing Sunday when I grab the schedules and the file is exactly the same size as the prior week as was the case today. I guess somebody was asleep at the switch. I’m shocked ANC-ORD 3x is Real and all red eyes. That’s nuts. Where does Delt...Jump to post
I just wanted to mention the importance (I believe) of the Mexican border in this announcement. SAN and ELP are certainly the 2 largest cities on the Mexican border while Tijuana and Juarez are surely the largest Mexican cities on the border. There must be traffic between the 2 Mexican cities which...Jump to post
Interline I can see, but with Primera's very poor operational performance I would be hesitant to create any closer integration (such as B6 selling connections to Primera on their website on their ticket stock). I mean JetBlue's isnt all that much better really, plus they partner with many who are l...Jump to post
really? I've heard English every time out of MIA (and really everywhere-even domestic in places like Peru where it wouldn't necessarily seem like they would have to.Jump to post
Yeah JetMagic, I forgot about them. Pretty close resemblance. So how many airlines have had three liveries in operation at the same time ? Delta Air Lines famously had three at once (Ron Allen, Song, and Wavy Gravy. Around 2006 when I was based in JFK, I had seen all of them at once along with a fe...Jump to post
What they really should've done was refitted them almost five years ago when they announced the mega-refresh. It's ridiculous that his has gone on for so long. LA and DL have 767s I'd actually seek out over the 787/777.Jump to post
US drove LH out of CLT before on the FRA route. However, the Lufthansa flight is always busy. It goes out with a good load and, from what I understand, a good mix of O/D and connections, many of which continue on to the Subcontinent. I think that LH will continue to offer one flight to CLT, at leas...Jump to post
CLT gets some more F9 service, including new TPA. I rarely see flights that don't have a completely full gate area as of right now, regardless of the destination.
Also, has anyone seen GDL-CLT/ABQ loaded to GDS or is it just on Volaris.com right now?

I was asking because we were told by EXPERTS on here that CLT would be shrunk/right-sized Those so called “experts” on here having been predicting the dooms day of the CLT for as long as I could remember. There lack of knowledge and understanding how important of a role CLT is to AA is mind numbing...Jump to post
https://www.flyertalk.com/articles/american-airlines-has-added-close-to-50-new-routes-in-the-last-three-months-alone.html One of the things I’d like to point out is that for the majority of these routes, they fall into the connecting-the-dots category, not the sexy interesting routes (with a couple...Jump to post
I'd love to see them do a LHR-BOG-PTY-LHR triangle, eventually serving them nonstop. I think upper South America, tied into the local LA network, is a hole that could be filled nicely and profitably. They may need to go nonstop to BOG due to AV competition, however.Jump to post
I mean the Italians don’t seem to be All that knowledgeable about the workings of the aviation industry but this one isn’t toad far out of line as it may appear. Rome was a historically big city for QF, there is sizeable demand and there’s enough people who would potentially move over from the ME3 t...Jump to post
Islip was also loaded as Saturday only as well, right? Maybe be AA’s new way for adding dots to CLT.Jump to post
Just a little FYI-the vast majority of people won’t know a flight-especially a new one-by the numbers. Most people wouldn’t know, for example, that LH 428/429 is MUC-CLT, a route that has been around for years, but someone might be able to give input if your thread contained the routing.Jump to post
Fantastic news for CLT!! Twice weekly service from a low cost airline that flies to US destinations like Fresno is “fantastic news”??? Wow, there must be even less going on in Charlotte than I thought. It's "fantastic" because CLT needs all the competition that could come in and give AA a...Jump to post
I am also a cello parent :) a few years ago I took it as it’s own passenger “Cello Surname” and booked over the AAdvantage support line. Flying out of MIA it’s often over water, the Atlantic going North or the Gulf going West. Often the WiFi won’t kick in over water. The time the flight hits land it’s too late to stream a movie. That’s a poor implementation then. The movies are stored on the plane, so you should be able to stream a ...Jump to post
I'd imagine either Seattle or Miami, with Seattle being the frontrunner. Let's not forget that CX is one of the most conservative airlines in Asia right now as far as network growth is concerned. Either they add Seattle because Delta is leaving and they have AS connections, or Miami because they've ...Jump to post
With the exception of Lufthansa's score, they all actually look reasonable.
Why LH is suddenly a 5-star, #7 airline is beyond me...
It appears that Avianca has dropped Piura (Perú) sometime in the past few months without annoouncement. I cannot find anything on the Web (not even from the venerable Airlineroute) about an end of service, yet it appears that there are no flights available to be booked on avianca.com or Google. Piur...Jump to post
If AA were to start PHX-LHR, no matter if it's on the 787 or A330, with no current wide body crew base in PHX what would the logistics of this look like? Would they have to open a small wide body base there or would the crew fly a domestic wide body PHL-PHX or ORD-PHX, overnight then fly the TATL l...Jump to post
Flight time would be somewhere around four hours, so ETOPS 180 not even needed. Now, Airlink being profitable is another thing. Maybe SA Express's elongated suspension will help them. But I’d imagine the increased range could mean direct from JNB or CPT instead of flying via WDH? I thought Airlink ...Jump to post
Now I will consider the 737-900ER to Hawaii spacious? Probably not, considering the A220 has bigger, eye level windows and wider seats :D Maybe Airlink could look at a -100 for their flights to St Helena and maybe even to MRU or deeper into Africa? I mean it would work well to HLE, using MTOW and r...Jump to post
I'm surprised another carrier from the Americas is thinking of taking the SSJ considering how many problems Interjet has had with it. It's a fine airplane, but the aftermarket support is very poor. 1) the trend of AA adding mid- and small-city Midwest destinations out of Charlotte continues. Some of the first Obed have done fantastic and have been upgraded. 2) While Miami has a lot of growth for AA this time around, I think Hobby is the most interesting. What about Africa? I see a lot of opportunity for someone to set a hold in the African market. If they developed routes to China at the same time, they could quickly become a key player across the quickly developing continent.Jump to post
Congrats to JetBlue and Airbus. So JetBlue becvomes the first North American operator of the A220. Will it be built in France or in Canada? It looks like once the E-190s are gone, JetBlue will be an all-Airbus airline. I think that the A220 would be a good fit on short haul routes that do not requi...Jump to post
If I were to hedge a bet either the surplus Q400 slack from cutting YSB will either be used to add YQG-YYZ making YQG a year-round station for WS or they’ll up YYZ-YOW/YUL to hourly service at long last. I don't think the demand is quite there for Windsor. B In the spirit on Airliners.net, and the ...Jump to post
If the rumors are true AA is on the hunt for used A319s to take over some of the remaining MD80 routes and maybe replace a few 738 routes and/or upgauge a few E175 routes. That makes a lot of sense. In my opinion, AA hasn’t probably missed a bit of an opportunity with used aircraft. Look at Deltas ...Jump to post
Wow the skies over Charlotte will be weird...Sad to see them go (no i havent flown one in years though so it may be worse now from a passenger standpoint then back them)Jump to post
AA can only do a limited amount of upguaging due to a lack of mainline gates at ORD and CLT. Despite CLT being a megahub, AA has less than 50 mainline gates and many of them have size restrictions that make anything larger than A320 problematic. Aren't they picking up a handful more on the old Conc...Jump to post
