TK? They are getting a brand new ginormous hub in a few months. I don't think VLA's are in their future. TP. Rumor has it that TP is indeed one of the carriers interested but the airport won't allow A380 operations. Same rumor source also told me that EK also wanted to bring the A380 to LIS and was...Jump to post

I'm surprised that this deal is happening at all. In the end, I think that Embraer got a relatively good deal considering that their E2 wasn't selling. If they had waited until after Farnborough, the deal wouldn't have been as sweet unless they had booked significant amounts of orders, which was un...Jump to post

Argentina is making steps in the right direction. For a long time South America has been a very expensive continent to fly, large parts of it still are. Take Brazil for example, total lack of LCCs due to LCC-unfriendly laws. Most of the Brazilian population doesnt have access to flying because it's...Jump to post
This helicopter shuttle also exists in São Paulo. Voom, an Airbus company serves as a booking platform. You can do Guarulhos (GRU) airport to Congonhas (CGH) or some strategics places in São Paulo. It even goes to Campinas.
I think they have also started business in Mexico City
No A330 in Latam Brasil.
Of all the 77W, I think some will return to the lessor and some others will stay in the fleet. They are even going to retrofit the cabin once again ( and the CEO also mentioned that the 767 would also have a interior refit).
This is not unique to Spain, have seen TP advertise themselves as the gateway to Italy on NYC taxis as well. The "forced" connection part is only a thing if you insist on taking the JFK flight, that departs at ungodly hours and gets into Lisbon around noon. The Newark flight gets into Lis...Jump to post
I think the people who complain are mostly the portuguese nationals that are really(I mean, really really really really) proud of their country. Indeed it's a beautiful country and one of my favorites in this world, even before being a trendy destination. Unfortunately they don't see this as a way t...Jump to post
I never understood why LATAM did not fly to Lisbon of all places. Could they announce OPO in the future? I may be wrong, but I believe the reason is that right around the time when JJ began considering LIS many years ago their then *A partner TP was on the route so IIRC there was a codeshare agreem...Jump to post
I did a couple of AA DFW-HKG flights and a LAX-DOH r/t with Qatar. All in business class. You eat, sleep, go to the bathroom, watch movies, listen to music, use internet, sleep, eat. Lol. What I love about these flights is that there’s no rush to do things. Since it takes a lot of time, everyone fee...Jump to post
You guys keep saying that LH won't like this, but I think they will have to suck it up. Why? Because JJ still have codeshare agreements with LH group. O6 still don't offer the same connectivity as JJ. JJ and LH still need each other. Let's not forget that JJ have also applied to increase frequency i...Jump to post

LIS will definitely be next. I won DUB would be so low yielding... and given that they funnel traffic to DUB at LHR with OW partner BA... Latam funnels Dublin traffic via Frankfurt not LHR and they’re very uncompetitive . KLM pretty much owns DUB>Brazil for price and timings.American Airlines offer...Jump to post
I think BOS-YYZ would be another failed attempt.
If I am not mistaken, JJ is also expecting to have 3 more weekly flights to FRA, but they are still waiting for the the slots they want.
Other than that, I think Portugal would be the next destination for JJ.
Oksman You are right, JJ have always operated the JNB-GRU route with the 767 and it really takes this northern route which adds 2 hours flying time. In a way the 767 has enabled JJ to open some routes such as FCO, BOS, seasonal LAS, BCN and JNB. It's also the smallest widebody in JJ fleet. I think t...Jump to post

When will see a LATAM 77W painted in the new livery? Is the plan still to get rid of the 77W in favor of a 787/350 fleet majority? They were supposed to, but not anymore. Change of plans. The 77W will still be part of Latam. This year these birds will have a retrofit, with focus in changing the int...Jump to post
I guess it depends on the time that you arrive at LIS. If you arrive early in the morning when most of the TP widebodies arrive from Brazil and Africa than you are in for a treat, lol. I had this experience twice last year (GRU-LIS and GIG-LIS) and it was terrible. I had to wait a lot to pass passpo...Jump to post
I flew to LIS from PHL in 2009 with my family and it took us nearly three hours to get through passport control -- I've never experienced anything like that before. We resolved after that that if we were going somewhere on the Iberian Peninsula to only fly into MAD. Have you every experienced fly t...Jump to post
Azul could join Star Alliance if Avianca Brazil wasn't a member already. How about Azul in SkyTeam? Azul is part of the David Neeleman + HNA acquisitions which also includes TAP and Aigle Azur. This may be a way for them to stop the flow of people fleeing the country. Maduro and the revolution in general actually want as much of the higher/middle class out of Venezuela as possible. I keep thinking if this is also because of the imminent JV between AA and JJ. Maybe the AA/QF has taught them something? The JV between JJ/IAG have some conditions like keeping the same number of seat per year for 10 years, giving one LHR slot and creating another Brazil - Europe flight in other sta...Jump to post
I wonder if this also happens because of the seat configuration? I mean, the A350 has 3-3-3, right?
Azul also have it. It's called Skysofa and is equipped in their A330, where the config is 2-4-2. So it is more spacious and probably better suited for a family.
I dunno if it's successful or not.

This Brazil - Asia has been discussed a long time. Currently the ME3 + TK and ET have been the ones carrying the bulk of people from these two continents. GE operated them at 233K. Only used regional routes.
And that should be plenty, even factoring in BOG's height. These planes will be used in medium haul routes - with BOG-EZE being the longest one.
I know they fly the 787-8 within the Americas from Bogotá to New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Mexico City, Lima, Santiago, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. Also to some domestic destinations. So I suppose the A333 will operate those routes to free some 787 to increase Madrid and start Munich. I´ve heard th...Jump to post
