I would say that I consider a hub a mega-hub if that airline carries more than 80% of the annual passengers that transit through that hub. In this regard, DFW and CLT are AA's megahubs, while ATL and maybe DTW count as megahubs for DL. The closest things UA might have to a megahub would maybe be EW...

I think you may be thinking of fortress hub, not megahub. Fortress hubs are basically airports with one dominant carrier that carries a large percentage like you mentioned (80%+).
