In 2017, only 44,000 flew LHR-CMN-LHR (i.e., P2P only), with a further 19,000 to/from LGW. So on a local traffic basis, LON-CMN isn't big.

Why has KLM reduced from 3 to 2 and now 1 daily frequency to IST? Just saw the expanded schedule for IST-KBP. That route is barely 575 nmi...yet it is served with A330-300 aircraft on some frequencies. What's the cargo or passenger situation on that route to justify a wide-body aircraft on that route? (This route is served with a mix of B738 and A333 equipment.) ...

SU has large numbers of overnight flights from all over Europe to SVO. Unsurprisingly, those closer to SVO have especially 'bad' timings. One of the 'worst' is MSQ-SVO: 0310-0435. This is a 1h 25m block. SU has around 100 departures from SVO between 0600 and 0900.
