An Air France A380 or 777 is far more appealing then an 25 year DL 767. Very Bad idea. As someone who has been a passenger on all 3.. I can say nope. In Y w/ my wife, give me the 767 all day. Followed by the inside section of the A380, then look for another airline, then maybe the AF777. I'm also m...Jump to post

This is what 1/2 the country is tired of, people turning a seat assignment into a "complex problem". Most people have real "complex problems" like trying to make a living, raising good kids, caring for elderly parents, etc. Their time is too valuable to care about two dudes not ...Jump to post

The tunnels will remain. The T6/T7 connector was built on the roof of the building between the two piers. The T4/T5 connector will be built on the backside of the new T4.5 building. You can see a section of that passageway in the picture of the terminal core. That passageway (glazed floor to ceilin...Jump to post

Phase 2 tentative order came out yesterday - "Of the 20 Phase Two slots that were subject to divestiture at Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) (10 pairs), and of the four slots at New York’s John F. Most customers don't know the age of the aircraft. Last year, I was walking on a DL 752 and the people in the seats behind me were commenting on how this was a new plane. The plane was 19 or 20 years old at the time.Jump to post

Help me here. I read the linked article. It sounds like it has less to do with the language spoken and more to do with the substance of the conversation. There were buzz words that can make people nervous. If an English speaking person says the word “bomb” - the same result would likely occur. Farc...Jump to post

Couple more stories. City considering raising fines up to $10,000 per violation, along with higher slot utilization rates to retain them as noise violations increased 79% in 2017 nearly all by JetBlue. I don't follow LGB's slot allocation process that closely, but it will be interesting to hear the full details. I didn't think B6 could pick and choose who would get their slots go if they weren't to use them. I thought they would have to be returned to the airport and airlines then submitting appl...Jump to post

That Air China looks great.
You know no one up in F just randomly was handing out blankets to the Coach passengers as they walked past. These 2 just each grabbed their own blankets as they walked thru F and took them to their seat. Probably not realizing they even did anything wrong. Blankets on planes used to be a regular th...Jump to post

Get out while the market is still hot. There is no way, IMO, that KEF and tourism in Iceland can maintain this constant growth.Jump to post
Honest question here, but why did JetBlue agree to the consent decree? After the FIS was shot down, couldn't B6 have just not agreed to the additional fines and forced the city's hand ?Jump to post

Also, TBIT isn't going to have the check-in counter space for all of these airlines that appear to be moving from T5 to MSC when it opens and AA takes over T5, so T1.5 includes some leaseable ticket counters in addition to the ones that WN has committed to.Jump to post
Except that, as of now, only Skyteam partners are scheduled to move to Daxing; OneWorld and and Star Alliance airlines will remain at Beijing Capital. Are you suggesting that AA will try to jump ship to Daxing - and leave its (admittedly limited) OW connecting partners behind? And has anyone sugges...Jump to post
Nothing yet. In fact, the new AA lease with LAWA isn't on the agenda for the LAWA Commissioner meeting on July 13 (there is a new lease w/ WN for space between T1 and T2, and the EIR approval for T2/3 modernization project on the agenda). I seem to recall that there was some lag in between the time ...Jump to post
I've been hearing this as well (AA copying DL? shocker!) but can't for the life of me figure out where Allegiant, Frontier, JetBlue, Hawaiian, Spirit, and Sun Country (the cats and dogs if you will) are going to go. That's nearly 70 daily departures - there's simply no room elsewhere. Midfield Sate...Jump to post

There is a lot they can do and they actually are going to destroy the Eagle's nest and move all those operations to a T4/T5. AA will likely be the sole tenant of both, and yes, I would think this will involve semi-merging the terminals in a way. Can they do that without a T9 or T0, or would the pla...Jump to post
Until recently, capacity at LAX was an issue for Delta. Now that the terminals have been swapped, we shall see. Can the route support 3 airlines doing N/S LAX-SIN, or is DL bette...Jump to post

LAWA has a press release out as well. Looks like a handful of airlines may move in April, prior to the major move week in May. Interesting that DL would have wanted the slots. Were they going to add service somewhere (SEA/LAS/MSP), or just go to 5x to SLC? They can easily get commuter slots and just run CRJ7's to SLC now, and use their 4 slots for something else. And how long is WN considered "new"? Is it one year...Jump to post
