Just listened to ATC ground...they were assigned gate 18, if that provides any clue. I would have thought that sort of arrival would have parked over where the sports teams park away from the terminals near UPS/Fedex....

Why are there no mass shootings in Western countries that have not banned guns? Switzerland, Canada, Australia, Germany, Norway.... EDIT: Sorry, two more points.... 1 - There are mass shootings in these countries (Port Arthur, 1996, Oslo, 2011, others...), but they're fewer and less deadly 2 - I th...

Re: We are the Un-United States of America

It is an interesting find, I'll give you that much, DFLT... Why? Because the right-wing media has duped their know-nothing base into thinking Democrats are for open borders and MS-13? Mainly because it shows the dramatically-different circumstances we were in in 1993. The electorate cared about def...

Back in 1993, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) declared that America could no longer afford to be Mexico’s welfare state – and that the U.S. should only accommodate legal immigrants. Feinstein noted that Mexico does not provide its citizens the host of expensive entitlements available in the U.S.: ...

We can't have a conversation because to stop all mass shootings you have to ban all the guns. Why are there no mass shootings in Western countries that have not banned guns? There are two courses of action that have been proven, time and time again, to work in situations like these: 1. Thoughts and prayers 2. More guns for everyone. That collective attitude is the reason why nothing has changed since April 1999 When will the USA look at themselves and demand change? I ...

That's very thoughtful of you to not want an airline to come in that allows an entire segment of people to travel that likely otherwise cannot afford to fly anywhere. How about you just don't fly them if they show up. They still can't afford to fly anywhere. The ULCC's often fly around a class of p...

SLC is also definitely NOT shrinking (Seriously, have you look at the size of typical Mormon family? And SLC certainly has a fair amount of them). Is this your evidence? Great, here's mine; Salt Lake City had a lower population at the 2010 census than it did in the 1960 census. Jacksonville grew 40...

Just one data point to offer up: I'm SJC, have fam in JAX. SJC/SFO to JAX would get used 3-4 times yearly by my brood. I'd also use JAX as a hub into Europe, if the TCON and TATL existed. There was Air Canada and this one. What was the third one? There was a second Air Canada event. Okay, I missed that one. But that doesn't seem like a "runway-related" issue but rather a communications issue. Apparently AC's radio failed just after landing clearance. Could happen at any ai...

Great thread!
