Not much of a difference in seat count between the 339 and the 359 hence the speculation that DL would need something smaller, closer in size to the 763. That's a lot of seats to fill and may limit your destinations when your smallest wide body has 262 seats.....

There was also a HKG-BKK in 1997-98 instead of HKG-SIN. It only lasted about a year or so then it switched back to HKG-SIN. Aircraft was 744.

Hi !

I know there was another runway at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and it was a cross runway in 90 degree angle to the current runways and was just west of where Tom Bradley Terminal is now. Exactly when did it close ? I have heard early 1970s but not sure.

PR could easily get a lot of 789s for cheap as there are lot of ex-Norwegian parked in the dessert. No need to buy new expensive 338s when they can get better long haul planes that are already built. But I don't see PR adding any planes at this time.....

Never heard that phrase before either but I think it refers to the joint maintenance pool and cooperation that existed between some European Airlines. I think it included AY, SK, KL, SN, SR, IB and AZ and specifically for the DC-10 that all of these airlines flew. I could be wrong..

TW had a JFK-PHX-LAX in 1993-94 with a 762 which isn't as short as the ones mentioned but great for me as I couldn't get on the nonstop to LAX.

Thanks Stitch.....maybe TG will take these as a replacement for some older 77W's that might be coming up for lease expiry, or to replace the 6 77E's they still have. But I wouldn't be surprised if these 3 get built as white tails and then desert stored. They could use them to replace the 380s and 7...

Anyone know what's driving all of the traffic to Guam? Right now, I see three direct 777s enroute to Guam from LAX, HNL and SFO. What is the closest airport to VCV that most of the U.S airlines could put a aircraft into revenue service instead of racking up non revenue cycles/hours? Seems wasteful to deadhead a aircraft when you could plop it into scheduled service & earn revenue getting the aircraft to its regular base....
