Re: QX begins Q400 fleet reduction

The 700’s are ready for lease return.. all 6 remaining are in TUS for the return next month. You mean the 400s? A few 700s are being converted to freighters, but no 700s are leaving the fleet right now They absolutely are, the CRJ-700. The 700’s are ready for lease return.. all 6 remaining are in T...

Re: QX begins Q400 fleet reduction

Are the non-sky interior birds getting bin retrofits and LEDs? Any chance the 73G, 738, 739A get sky interior modifications or is it to expensive/ not possible? Nothing has been communicated to employees, but I spoke with one of our customer experience managers about this probably 6-12 months ago. ...

Re: Delta flies cancel-free over Thanksgiving holiday (includes Delta Connection)

The press release said Delta Air Lines flew more than 2.35 million customers on nearly 23,000 flights during the holiday period from Wednesday to Sunday without a single cancellation anywhere across its global operation Wednesday Nov 22 to Sunday Nov 26. Nov 9 does not count. Not sure why you conve...

Alaska Airlines milk run, not too familiar with the actual stops in the route, but a quick google search should turn up results Not only Google but the alaskaair.com site has its own page: https://blog.alaskaair.com/destinations/the-milk-run-flight/ Generally, it's SEA to ANC or ANC to SEA with a l...

Re: AS starting SEA-PIT

Why does AS seem to avoid running red eyes to the East Coast? A red eye SEA-XXX and then a XXX-SEA am departure would be perfect for connections. While some not considered east coast, it's not like they don't have red-eyes: ATL,AUS,BOS,ORD,DFW,IAH,EWR,MCO all have red-eyes. I suspect we will see mo...

Re: All VX flights now AS flights starting 25APR18

The cutover is a “drain down” method, where inventory on legacy VX flights stopped being sold a few months back for travel after 24APR18. Travel after that date can still be done on virginamerica.com but in the background you’re forwarded to alaskaair.com to be booked on the AS partition on 027 sto...

Re: All VX flights now AS flights starting 25APR18

When do VX crews get on the AS contracts? Huge increase in pay and stability Pilots are currently waiting on the results of arbitration (I think 20-something days before results are expected?) Flight attendants at VX are now represented by AFA Alaska, and AS/VX flight attendants are currently in ne...

The new colors have really started to grow on me. I actually like them more now than when they first came out. 568 & 569 are in paint I just saw 569 the other day. Are they getting rid of the Starliner and Employee Powered schemes? Starliner I'm not sure. Employee Powered (at least with the sam...

Re: Alaska new livery update

That one should stay as it is "easily recognizable as Alaska". The Timbers jet retirement was pushed back until early next year. Is it being sold or being made into a freighter? I've been seeing it at ANC a lot lately. I think all 700's are going away. The 73Gs are here for the foreseeabl...

Re: Alaska new livery update

I would say as many as 60-70% of the 738's are painted and 50-60% of the 739's. I think all of the E175's are in the new livery (including the SkyWest ones) and obviously none of the Dash 8's are painted. Why aren't any of the Q400s painted? In fact this would be a perfect time for them to start pa...

Re: Refundable ticket to visit airport

I've been airside at airports in the USA by walking up to the check-in desk of any random airline and asking for a "gate pass". This was to pick up elderly people from flights, and it was no problem at all. Buying a refundable ticket at an airport where gate passes might not be issued, wh...

Re: Delta gates at airports it wants to expand at

At SEA it's a CUTE system, but I think they have about 10 gates, maybe more. When the expansion of N occurs, they could get more gates, but probably not a lot. I believe SEA is a rolling hub, though, so the amount of gates isn't very relevant. All N gates at SEA belong to AS, even after the expansi...

Re: Is Being For EAS But Against Subsidized Gulf Carriers Really Hypocritical?

I won't speak to the ME3 subsidies (I don't know enough about it) but I do not believe EAS is remotely similar to them. EAS is the difference between no service and service for a remote area. Take Adak, AK for example. At the very far end of the Aleutians, it's not possible to drive to Anchorage, or...

The standard -900 and the -900ER are used interchangeably across the system, including this route. The only routes that are exclusively -900ER are Hawaii, on the rare occasion it isn't operated by the -800

Taxiway tango at SeaTac. It's not uncommon to see planes parked there around the holidays. With Thanksgiving yesterday, Delta had very reduced flying (so did Alaska, but we have access to more parking). DL A330 Parked Between SEA Runways

Hi! I've been sitting at SeaTac for a couple hours and noticed that there's been a Delta A330 sitting between the runways for several hours (I've been here for 2 and it's been there since I got here). No lights, no movement, no vehicles near it. I have a picture but can't figure out how to upload it...
