Quiet innovative! Virgin Holidays has announced plans to build a private lounge on Brownes Beach in Barbados to occupy travellers while they wait for their flight home. The Departure Beach, scheduled to open in May 2018, will have a beach bar and restaurant, complimentary towels and showers, WiFi, g...Jump to post
Has AA stated when they will begin installing true Main Cabin Extraa seating product on the former USAirways aircraft.
Seems like there is no plan and there is quiet a 'hot mess' of a difference of product on AA vs US aircraft even after all these years - with no plan?
Rest assured DL or a Skyteam partner will be linking MSY with either AMS or CDG. The market is there - it's very likely more inbound heavy with tourist/business/oil-gas related traffic/crew change related. The power of either hub is significant and offers connections to smaller markets in Europe tha...Jump to post
BA has a great product and they know it, so it will not be easy pulling people away from them. Huh???? Um, have you ever seen a Club World seat in person? It's absolutely terrible! No, that's being too nice... it's F#CKING TERRIBLE. I do agree about the no AC vents and on Euro Traveler they don't e...Jump to post
RE GLO So it appears they have gone 'seasonal' on their routes to SHV, MEM, and HSV .. and Destin I'm not sure. But the only flights after Friday 7/7 they are operating are MSY-LIT and some of their LIT-Destin service (they have one flight on 14Jul). No announcement. No protection for travelers alre...Jump to post
Sort of a ridiculous title ... 'rumor' ... I don't think if this were true there would be a rumor about it at this point in time. American Airlines would have made a formal announcement when the decision was made. But alas, it's not true. I agree with the statement above, anyone that knows native SA...Jump to post
Love a 767 .. but they do have some issues the older they get. Both DFW inaugurals were delayed today due to maintenance. I can mention we have sold a good number of tickets on the FCO service and the coach fares are in the $1800 range, far higher than to LHR and CDG. So AA is has to be making some ...Jump to post
CFM seemed to operate unreliably with a number of cancellations, pulling planes for maintenance for days at a time creating a reliability issue for GLO's brand. I notice CFM now is known as Contour. This same Contour has a relationship it seems with Crystal Cruises and that XRS aircraft for air char...Jump to post
Well, if Silver wanted to step in to the MSY market and have access to what GLO built up, they better make their move right away. I'm not sure which markets GLO performed best in. I honestly think the best future for GLO was to buy its own a/c (huge investment for aircraft, crew, training etc.). But...Jump to post
Well, it's pretty much 'something is up -- as of 27Apr - last flight - for now. I will share the message received today from GLO: "We are going through a transition, which is exciting big picture, but unfortunately has come at a challenging time. We have been forced to make schedule changes to ...Jump to post
So ... further investigation sheds this light: Looking at their lowest fare calendar for flights on 01May in the SHV MSY, LIT MSY and MEM MSY markets - the lowest fare calendar shows fares for all days of the month. NO flights in May in any of those markets. So something is up. Does not look good.Jump to post
Considering WN's reservation system issues are not the best to begin with at this point I seriously doubt they will be doing a codeshare with GLO. I received notification on cancelled flights I have booked with GLO in the SHV-MSY market. I'll also mention that the e-mail was worded in the worst way ...Jump to post
Glad to see SHV score another route. That being said, tickets are over $1000 RT. At those levels, it won't last. ??? The route has almost zero to do with CLT-SHV O&D. I'm aware of this. I looked at the more popular connections from SHV (BOS, NYC, DC metro). CLT is not on the routing of most of ...Jump to post
He sure doesn't look like a doctor. ^^ That statement is unbelievable. Really? What does a doctor look like? As for United, Republic - or whatever.... as far as I see it and the public - United's name is splashed everywhere - from the ticket, to the gate, to the plane to the inflight magazine to th...Jump to post

What happens when you have technology from the 60's?
Only in the last few months have both United and American in the U.S. require that documentation be provided from a physician stating such support is necessary and the documenation must be on file with these two airlines now. Since United says that seating together is not guaranteed maybe they should restrict sales to those 18 and older. This might help avoid to complaints of kids being row 8 and the parents being in rows 24 and 18. We all know that's coming. This is a complete nightmare already, because people read thi...Jump to post

Happy to have this available for our clients! Great partnership.
Been that way for at least a few years. Haven't ridden them since 2003, wasn't aware. :( Use a travel agent and get it for free. ...but pay a travel agent fee? What'd be the point? An agents fee is less than what BA wants to charge you for advice and service. Not every travel agent has access.Jump to post
I suspect the next move over the Atlantic will be either a DL/AF or KL seasonal service to CDG or AMS - the power of those hubs connectivity cannot be denied. Skyteam (DL) is not going to just sit by. Could be sooner rather than later - they won't allow BA to mature here. Something will come about o...Jump to post
To live in MSY today and be in the business community is to understand what makes this city tick. No, New Orleans is certainly not an ATL or IAH nor does it likely have the corporate business of a STL .. .but what it does have is a substantial amount of small business along with a few large companie...Jump to post
Brexit nonsense needs to stop. It's not going to affect things much at all. And it will in fact create a surge in inbound tourism to Britain, something that will be very noticeable next summer.[/quote] Well ..... tourism certainly will increase to the UK/Britain - Brexit will indeed have an affect o...Jump to post
There is an Aviation Board Meeting tomorrow 20Oct-Thursday - a regular monthly meeting @ 1000a - so there is a gathering. Today with all the fire and rescue emergency preparedness - I doubt anything would take place with 'smoke and plums' in the background.Jump to post
It's just like BA to drain one of their emotions. They are not the easiest corporation to 'count on' or deal with commercially.Jump to post

Just saw this come across my email... Most likely unrelated... Thomas Cook Airlines UK in December 2016 scheduled one-time operation to New Orleans, on board Airbus A330-200 aircraft. On 23DEC16, the airline will operate London Gatwick – New Orleans route on charter basis, with following schedule. ...Jump to post
Would a BA MSY-LHR service have any effect on DE's seasonal MSY-FRA service? They focus on different markets. Condor goes almost exclusively goes after leisure travelers (primarily going to Europe). BA will get any business traffic and will probably get most if not all traffic headed from Europe to...Jump to post
FI has zilch interest in MSY service, the market is simply put too minuscule to consider.
BA will be a great addition if it comes to be.

You mean JFK-BHX, right? Not too surprising that ORD-DUS, PHL-BRU, and PHL-ZRH are going away. However, this will constitute a complete pullout from BRU, and also from YHZ. Any idea why they wouldn't operate DFW-KOA for April and May as well? It seems like rather spotty service. Yes, - my apologies...Jump to post
