The SYD - SFO - SYD flights in July, 2020 the departure time for QF73 has been put back from today's 17:40 to 19:55 with effect from 29/3/20. This will enable QANTAS to operate to SCL with just the one additional 789, which it is presumed will be 12th aircraft that will be delivered in late May, ear...

Re: Qantas Fleet Thread - 2019

I think they need to order 8 more 787-9s on top of the next 6.

2 for Frankfurt
2 for Paris
1 more for Melbourne to make a DFW service daily to keep the SFO service
2 for SYD to rotate between Vancouver and Seattle
1 more to make BNE-ORD daily

Re: Qantas Fleet Thread - 2019

Well if they managed to swap the A380 from SYD to DFW to HND then it could work. And then use 2/6 787s for the SYD-DFW. I guess to be able to to do MEL-DFW they will have to either stop flights to SFO or order more 787s (for also Paris, Seattle, Vancouver and possibly Frankfurt and Daily BNE-ORD) Wi...

Re: Qantas could delay the withdrawal of the Boeing 747?

Of the 6 remaining orders and 2 will be used in SYD-SFO with daily flights, this was already official by Qantas, but the announcement of ORD / SFO from BNE only 2/3 remain for HND, JNB and SCL I think you may be misunderstanding some of the above posts. Re: Australian Aviation Thread - March 2019

In short I think it is likely that the A380 will take over at least one current 747 route for the short-medium term until either more 787s or the Sunrise aircraft enter the fleet. Yes, there is no way QF can rely solely on incoming 787s to replace the 744 fleet. It’s not a coincidence that the A380...
