Reason for the raked tips is so that signals to/from the aircraft would not be affected. The winglets would interfere with the signals.

I can't ever remember seeing documentation of ULD's being used on the VC-25's. I could be wrong, but I think a majority of the aircrafts lower cargo area contains other components. I'd bet that anything that is loaded on the lower deck is in bulk form.

For aesthetics, I too like the A345 over the 777LR. But......if I got to choose between the two it would still be the 777LR. I understand it has slightly better performance and there is something about the utilization of overhead space that intrigues me.
