Personally if what I have read is true about the fire coming from the air conditioning unit, then I think it's worse than it being another battery incident. It means that now there are two active problems causing fires on 787's as opposed to just one.

I am not sure why the 757 is being blamed for this. Take a flight on a lot of British Airways widebodies, United's widebodies and Delta widebodies, and you'll see the same lack of PTV in coach, this is not a narrowbody issue

Rain and winds while annoying will only slow things down. The reason for the major chaos the last time around was based on the freezing rain / ice issues that were rendering aircraft that had just been deiced unflyable after mere minutes. Without significant freezing, the chaos "should" be avoided.

You're right; all ERJ''s removed from the CO fleet are 145-XR's, so they all have winglets installed at the factory.
