SABRE is showing 6 flights - IAH-BTR on 12OCT. Flights are really heavily booked - there are just 1 or 2 seats avaiable on each flight. UA4028 is showing operating coach only - and the flight is sold out.

With Scoot (3x week) and Air Asia X (daily) flying to Honolulu now via KIX - it's a whole new ballgame - yields have to be dropping. And as LAXintl mentioned - they have the JV with JAL if they want to test new markets in Asia.

It's not just current engines - the 747 introduction was not a smooth one for several reasons - but the P&W engines was one of the top reasons. The L1011 had service issues because of the engines. And there were problems with turbo-prop engines (the Lockheed Electra) and issues with prop engines...

Don't know about EU roles - but in the past I've seen many US airlines state "subject to government approvals." Same thing - "if it's legal for us to operate the flight we will, if not we'll cancel the flight." Depends on how small the notation is and where they put it!

Wow. I find it quite interesting that this service was operated daily. Any idea when it commenced / terminated? I think it's also interesting that they offered service from BWI instead of IAD. UA had non-stop flights on DC-8-62s on BWI-HNL and JFK-HNL in the early 1970s. I didn't know about DTW-HNL...

Odd - United doesn't fly MIA GRU. When I look it up in Sabre it shows in schedules UA2711 IAD-MIA-GRU but it doesn't show in availability. And it's not regularly scheduled. Maybe a charter?

Monday, 11/2017 .. it's about 435pm Miami local time .. I'm watching PTZ Miami Airport cam. There's a United 772 sitting on a taxi way for awhile just outside of the freight area - there has been 6 full sweeps of the cam. Tried to look up on Flightaware - but don't see anything. United doesn't sched...

I think he might mean to the left of the terminal area - instead it it being black asphalt - it's white cement .. and the terminal looks new compared to the older building on the left .. (just guessing) ..
