For the last several years I fly AA just enough so I achieve gold and fly WN and DL the rest of the year. With OASIS being rolled out I'm not sure I'll even bother continuing to do that next year.

I cannot think of a worse use for those gates than AS using them. Here's hoping an airline people in Dallas want to fly will ultimately end up with those gates. Delta hopefully will end up with one and AA the other.

Actually, the in-depth research done on both brands during the "Which brand are we going to keep?" phase showed that the VX brand scored less favorably in many of the key consumer metrics than the AS brand did. It's not 1995 anymore, and the "Virgin" brand doesn't carry anywhere...

In fact, Love Field operated - no problems - with nearly twice as many gates when it was home to Braniff, American, Delta, Continental... i.e., before the opening of DFW.
