Sadly the original PanAm is long gone. They have done Boeing a favor lauhching almost every of their commercial airplanes. No doubt, even if nobody wanted the Dreamliner, PanAm would buy some of them just for the sake of it.

The An-2 hasn't been continuosly produced. After all the production has been transferred to PZL, it has been cancelled some years ago. Just recently(last year), PZL reactivated the production line to fullfill an 40+ An-2 order for North Korea.

Back in the 80's, Balkan lost one of their Il-18 somewhere in Africa because of a firm "nose-first"-landing. The aircraft bounced back in the air and then went down the runway bouncing. As it was under control, there was no more runway to stop safely...overshoot, structural damage, writeoff.
