Why is it that WN seems to be the ONLY airline on this forum that folks bring up fuel hedging on like it's some evil plot by them to fudge their numbers to look better? Other airlines can do it too...and sometimes they come out better per quarter because of it. It reminds me of that interview with ...Jump to post
Has anyone tried booking the new BOS-MSP flights on jetblue.com? I don't see MSP showing up on the drop-down list (using Chrome and IE). I used Chrome and could select MSP. On another note, does anyone know the intervals by which Jet Blue extends their schedule? It is currently through 6/13/18. Sim...Jump to post
DL has a high market share. I'm honestly not sure I'm looking at the correct data, but for Q2, I'm finding they have 52%. Compared to other city pairs to/from MSP, that's not ideal, but I'm sure that is due to the amount of competition already being discussed on MSP-BOS.
It's nice to finally have B6 available here at MSP. It will be interesting to see what other destinations will be flown out of MSP and how soon after this new MSP-BOS route, that will occur. I've read about SY's planned changes to the airline and I'm reserving judgement until giving it at least one...Jump to post
Yep, and the question is where NK fits in. Is there room for 4 carriers on this route? I also think B6 could pick up some travelers on the MSP end, keeping in mind that both Boston and Minneapolis are finance hubs (particularly in the mutual fund space), and B6 could very well have some corporate c...Jump to post

About time! http://blueir.investproductions.com/investor-relations/press-releases/2017/10-17-2017-153012837 Doubful, but wonder if we'll seem them on JFK/FLL-MSP in the future? Never say never. Seasonal Florida like WN flies from MSP? How about the west coast? Plenty of possibilities at some point.Jump to post

jetBlue books the Boston-centric crowd.
Delta grabs from both.
OMA has WN too. Lots of LNK customers do go to OMA. Prices in Lincoln are atrocious Wouldn't atrocious fares be a legitimate business decision for a new entrant to enter into a market? Or would airlines prefer just to steer clear of such an environment? Those "atrocious" fares might be al...Jump to post
Montana is well served by Alaska and Delta. Probably no room for additional carriers.
Alaska, I could see, IF Southwest wants to go at AS via SEA, but AS is clearly pretty well entrenched.
The Dakotas? Wyoming? Not happening with DEN, SLC, MSP connections.
The biggest problem WN is going to face with their BYOD strategy in these long markets is what happens after someones iPhone dies after 3 hours with no power outlet. I would consider that a bit annoying Imo, but of course they can bring a device with more battery longevity such as a MacBook as long...Jump to post
As mentioned, bring a power pack. If you know these things in advance, it should never be an issue.Jump to post
[ Regardless, if I'm going to Hawaii, I'm flying DL. There's no way I can manage to sit on a 737MAX with nothing to do for the length of that flight.  Other than 1 bag that flies free, does WN offer any onboard amenities for free? Alcohol, food, in-seat IFE? Devil's advocate a ...Jump to post
Won’t make it from MSP without a connection. I’ll hope for a one-stop, same plane via any CA coastal city. Except WN would have to serve MSP to the west coast first. All these new service plans are taking away growth at my Home airport!Jump to post
I meant for DL. There is very little to no competition in SLC (see: sun country, spirit in DTW, AS in Seattle) which means SLC averages the third highest average ticket cost of any city in the US. Not necessarily good for passengers but SLC is consistently one of the most profitable hubs for DL, es...Jump to post
Based on number of flights, AA has a slightly higher share, including regional non-mainline. But SY has 0.3% more passengers ytd 2017. So it's close

On a different note, it will be good to have an all wi-fi capable fleet for WN. Flew to PHX without it once...not fun without some entertainment for three hours!
What on earth did we do before 2010!
Kind of a waste to have painted them in the newest colors. Possibly, but I'm sure WN had their reasons, such as the existing paint was a disaster on a particular frame, thus was repainted. Yesterday a Delta B744 landed in MSP for fueling. DTWs longest runway is being worked on for another week. She had to takeoff empty and refuel before continuing back to Shanghai. Was also N662US the oldest Delta 744. Also not sure if this been mentioned yet but MSP-AMS winter season will be a KLM B...Jump to post
Thanks for the YOY post. For MSP, this is in part to the cutting of 2x daily MKE flights, for the most part. Really, nothing else impacting here. But, that said, there hasn't been growth either. Between DL and WN there is an average of 7 mainlines a day. IMO that market is tapped out. I don't disag...Jump to post

Will Sun Country add service to either IAH or HOU from MSP, or would Southwest end up serving HOU nonstop from MSP? I would bet WN first, actually. IAH/HOU won't be on SY's radar. They do not go after business traffic, mainly leisure. With their pending business model change to align itself closer ...Jump to post
