I am seeing today's inbound DEN-FAT due at 1:05pm circled for a while then diverted to BFL. After staying on the ground for a while at BFL it eventually took off and landed at FAT. I assume something related to today's storm.

I have been surprised by the Mexico schedules this month. Last night (Saturday) Volaris had 3X to GDL while AM had 1X to GDL. Four GDL flights was surprising to me given the month.

I also remembered that this flight qualifies for the new service incentive. ATL was a priority destination in that program. DL will get up to 2 years of waived landing fees and up to $300,000 in marketing support.

SBA on the 220 might be due to runway length too. The 737 is a bit of a runway hog; SBA's longest runway is 6000 feet. Even at (basically) sea level, a 737 full with gas for ATL and an alternate might have resulted in unfavorable passenger/payload limitations leaving SBA. But also, DL is adding 2X ...

I just checked the ATL-SBA add also announced.

The ATL-SBA will be on 220-300. So FAT is being given a few more seats.

But the SBA route gets a slightly better schedule with no redeye turn. It will depart ATL at 7:23pm and depart SBA at 7:25am.
