Re: Australian Aviation Thread - April 2019

Having had a chat to someone recently from QF they are at the moment unsure of what aircraft they are gong to send to JNB to replace the 744's, if they go 789 it will add extra +- 3-4 hours to the flight as they would have to hug the coast because of etops. A380 can do it but there would be the poss...

Re: LOT Polish international growth

JNB is more of a no-go than any of the others. Low demand, low yield. Hub in JNB? Where to? Antarctica?? Even SA struggles to make their JNB hub work (even if that airline has other, more serious, issues). Demand to South Africa from Western Europe is high, especially in Northern hemisphere winter....

I wonder what effect this will have on SAA Perhaps SAA will take on QF in the challenge, and launch something like JNB - MEL or CPT - SYD? Cheers, C. The writing is on the wall here. Re: Qantas considering 777-8 or A359ULR to replace 744ER's to fly SYD-JFK and SYD-LHR non-stop

The A380's will probably be re-prioritised. My understanding is “First” class will be going to the upper deck and premium economy will be going down to the lower deck. QANTAS have made statements to the effect A380's will be used for parts of the Asian network during peak periods. If this is the ca...
