Get the Nokia 6131. It has the a similar function to the one you described on the Siemens phone. Whenever you have a missed call or a text message the outer screens backlight starts blinking. Ive had the phone for about one year now and I couldnt be happier with it.

Hey Mia

Get your SIM card at any Migros Supermarket in Switzerland. Migros run their own cellphone service called "MBudget Mobile". Their rates are quite good and the whole process of getting a SIM takes about 5 minutes. There is a Migros in both the Geneva and Zurich airports.
