Blue Panorama. Rome. 2004. There was no fuel dumping system. I am not pulling stuff from thin air. You can see in this image that the accident aircraft in question clearly had the ability to dump fuel (left wingtip just behind the “EI” in the reg, you can see the fuel dump nozzle) https://commons.m...

Really? The US3 all had ground collisions in the last year or so. Guess they must be trainwrecks as well? :sarcastic: Not when your airlines had been blacklisted by the EU for safety concern and the fact that a plane from your airlines just PLUNGE into the sea few days before. So by the same measur...
Jump to postI would imagine SEA-BOS and BOS-SAN flights are business traveler heavy in first, so VR headsets won't be conducive to simultaneously working and taking advantage of inflight entertainment. Cool idea, but I don't see this going anywhere.
Jump to postSo you are completely satisfied with an airline selling a service, that they are unwilling or unable to provide. Posters here also forget that the passenger has already fulfilled his/her part of the contract that is paid. The service and contract was fulfilled by the airline, just on a later flight...
Jump to postBut, there was a unfortunate breakdown in process and procedure. There was? The flight crew was well within their rights to deny carriage of the Cello based on AA's published procedure, which is available to anyone with access to the internet and the ability to Google (see highlighted section); htt...
Jump to postHow is the cello any different than a baby in a baby carrier? You're kidding, right? This has to be a joke. What about all those carry on's that fit below the seat? They're not going to just sit in place... What about them? Carry-ons stowed under seats will most certainly stay in place in the event...
Jump to postOne of the F/As remained on board the plane until she made sure no one was staying behind. She was the last to leave. Reminds me of The Costa Concordia,,, Although I don't know the FO's status, the captain was seriously injured, can you expect him to inspect the cabin to ensure that everyone has go...
Jump to postSomething is fishy if the cellist followed the rules, but AA chose to kick her off the plane anyway. I can't imagine we'd ever know such a thing. It just makes more sense that they screwed up rather than that they plotted against her for her seats. Who knows. How are you able to come to the conclus...
Jump to postNo. That is an incorrect assumption. The Cello is 1/5 of a persons weight, and it is better secured to the seat than a person. Per pure facts and logic, it is therefore a false assumption. Aircraft seats are specifically over-engineerd to and designed to keep people in place in all directions (ever...
Jump to postFrom AA's own site: "If you choose to buy an additional seat for your instrument, please note that seat baggage must not weigh more than 165 lbs. (75 kg) and must meet seat size restrictions based on airplane type. " That seems ambiguous to me. If you're going to say there's restrictions,...
Jump to postIf that's the policy, that's fine. Why wasn't it enforced on the passenger's previous flight? Also in terms of policy, it's vaguely and ambiguously written given, which is on the airline. What is vague or ambiguous about this? "If your instrument doesn’t fit in the carry-on baggage space, you ...
Jump to postWas that really the victory sign? It might've just been the pilot communicating the number "two" for some reason to someone else outside the camera view. Jump to postThanks for joining us everybody! It's time now to grab some popcorn and settle in for another round of the A.net classic, "Who Can Defend the Airline and Blame The Passenger in the Most Absurd Way!" Jump to postI landed at DCA around 1130 this morning and while we weren't put into a hold ATC did slow us down a bit and also gave us a small deviation to our flight plan. Maybe they spaced out arrivals because of light wind gusts and AA4635 decided to divert for fuel? They were only on the ground for ~40 mins
Jump to postWouldn't it just be more cost effective to move all passenger ops to KNQX instead? I've always wondered about this. Jump to postdfwjim1 wrote:Just curious as to how the airport came up with 277 feet?
No. It looked like fuel dumping. It was definitely not vortices in low clouds on the clear day. DLX, two examples of fuel venting. A 5:30PM flight to Florida in the summer could certainly explain extra fuel, thanks to daily thunderstorms. Is this what you saw? http://www.b737.org.uk/images/surge_ta...

I have no idea how to call a tower. Definitely appeared to be a fuel leak considering it was from the end of one wing on a clear sky day. If it was near the tip of the wing, could've very well been fuel being vented from overfilled tanks. http://www.b737.org.uk/fuel_tank_vent.htm Was it Alaska Air?...

Haven't seen any references to length, but assuming it's similar to 10-28, these images provide a example of what the proposed 6th runway will look like:
Sh...., why did they decide to fly with such a large bank angle... Jump to postI'd want nothing to do with JFK and the NE. This storm is currently tracking to sit off the coast in the Atlantic, but if it tracks westward, this could cause significant delays in NYC.
