Their MAN ops stopped around March 2015 when ATL was transferred to VS. They were due to operate 6 weekly MAN-BOS using 757s in 2020 but circumstances dictated otherwise. MAN-JFK has been operated for 2 to 3 year periods a couple of times as well.

They do only report who gets on and not include transit passenger so with SQ, they may have decided to split capacity along the lines of: SIN-IAH = 20% as we don't know how many passengers have booked, we cant' quantify loads SIN-MAN = 80%. Just to reinforce Scottie's initial sentence about split loads, when I last looked at the US T-100 statistics a few years ago, the SIN-IAH portion was 25% to 30% of the capacity, around 3000 passengers or so a month. Some of the lesser known carriers like Gulf Air and Kuwait might find better fares at LBA, particularly if they are flying on smaller frames. Gulf Air is using 789s and getting loads well in excess of 90%. If they can get better fares at LBA then maybe they should look to move their LHR ops to LBA ...

The airlines at MAN are operating frequencies at which they believe they will make the most money. If by increasing a frequency means the route will then start to attract "bargain basement" fares which then adversely affect a route's profitability then they would sensibly not increase freq...

pretty sure ORK-MAN and SNN-MAN were up to 3 times daily using Stobart's ATRs. Once Ryanair started on those route, there was no way they could compete on price and i doubt there was significant business traffic needing a same-day return option

How about an EK fifth freedom route from Dubai to Edinburgh to the US ? Would be interesting! At least this would be one of the few non-UK/US airlines flying between the UK and USA, and the competition isn't as bad as LHR-US or MAN-US as very few airlines are flying nowadays between EDI and the US....
