Airborne Video-live-streams

With internet on board (connexion) and cameras installed in the aircrafts nose or tail it should be no major problem to send these live-pictures to a server on the ground, that could be streaming them to the internet. Coupled with live-atc this would be a great entertainment. Does anyone know whethe...

Delivery Of Single Engine Airplanes To Europe

Hi,

I wonder, how small single-engined airplanes (Cessna 172 for example) are delivered from the USA to Europe.

Do they have to be disassembled and moved by ship? Or is there any way to fly them across the Atlantic (on own power or inside a cargo-plane)?

Thanks

D.

DC10 That Deviated From RWY In HHN

Hey all, last Monday an AEROFLOT DC-10 left the runway in HHN (Hahn) during heavy snow and ended up in the grass. That's what was written in local newspapers: "HAHN. A Russian cargoairplane deviated from the runway during landing at <...

Is it possible to lower only the nosegear? How can that be done (pulling circuit breakers or something like that?)

RE: Plane Crash In Egypt!

How can they be so sure, that this is a technical issue at this early stage of the "investigation". The Egyptian and the French officials do not talk about anything else. In my opinion there is not the slightest evidence to prove that. According to the media, the crew did not report any problem prio...

how is a "low approach" defined exactly?

Does it mean it is "below" the glideslope?

Military Cargo Airplane With 6 Props?

Hello all, yesterday I watched 2 military cargo airplanes approaching Ramstein AFB here in Germany. Both looked like the C130, but had 3 engines on every wing. They were still travelling at high altitude, so that I...

Red Switches On The Thrust Levers

Hello, I've just watched an aviation video, which deals about the A320. One scene shows the thrust levers from behind and a small red switch can be seen on the lower back of the left lever. I think normally it is covered by a black cap and it seems, that there are two of these switches (one on each ...

Gear-pins On A 737

Hi all, I've just read an article about handling the 737 (NG) on the ground. It was said, that the gear pins (nose and main gear) have to be installed everytime the aircraft is parked, pushed or towed to prevent the gear from collapsing when hydraulic-press is removed. Is that right? I know, that it...

Packs And Bumps

Hi all,

I've just watched a video where a A320 captain completes the Pre-Take-Off checklist and says "Packs on / bumps off" while looking at the overhead panel.

What does "bumps off" mean? I guess it must be something in conjuction with pressurization.

Thanks

Dominic

Some time ago I had a discussion with a friend. I can not believe this. I'm just a SimPilot, but gliding for 3 ho...

Stopping An Airplane

Hi... I've got a general question about airplanes. What does a pilot have to do to stop a plane using the wheelbrakes. Are there special pedals for the brakes in the cockpit? Or does he use the rudder-pedals. If so: Is it necessary to put pressure to both pedals simultaniously, because I think, if o...
