Would a 787-9 work on this route ? Maybe nonstop to Los Angeles and a stop in Honolulu( or nonstop) on the way back. This works best for Vietnam airlines without having to get a new type of plane into their fleet since they already have 787-9 and A350-900's. The 777-9 seems like too much airplane f...
Jump to postBecause even the dogs on the street know that for EVERY commercial aircraft program in the last 50+ years, the first frames have been sold at a loss. Unfortunately, it appears the dogs on the street are more knowledgeable than the DOC and some on here! What's going on here has NOTHING to do with th...
Jump to postIs Boeing sending a less than subtle message to other aircraft manufacturers ? Food for thought! 325i. This is another opportunity to potentially create rules, laws, precedence, etc in their fight with Airbus or any future competitor, especially if this rises to the WTO level. It's not necessarily ...
Jump to postDue to the ITC/US DoC spat and subsequent 216% tariff, can DL get VS to buy these frames and lease back to dL? Or conversely, an overseas leasing company could do the same but might keep some margin. Question is would that be allowed legally in the face of the tariff as it would be blatantly obvious...
Jump to postThis is NOT AN ORDER; intent to purchase is an LoI and far from an order. Why is THY asking price from Airbus for 40 A359???
Jump to postYep. The very same crew but not all the passengers were the same; some took other flights out of NRT. I was in it and landed at 08:25 this morning as UA 2714.
Jump to postNote, we did have 115 mph of headwind going into NRT!!
Jump to postHere is the update from the flight crew. Actual distance/time from diversion point was about 5 hours to HNL and a little under 4 hrs to NRT. SO NRT was chosen. The passenger had some sort of cardiac issue, they stabilized him and he underwent surgery last night. Also they said his wife and son are b...
Jump to postThat map is not correct as the normal route to sfo is not that must west. The diversion was 3.5 hours of flying from the normal route.
Jump to postHello Almost 7 hours into the flight, crew initiated. 3.5hour diversion to NRT. Landed around 20:00, all passengers and crew overnight we due to crew time out and lack of alternate crew. Now the new section is added as 2714 departing at 15:00. Question is: How can it be critical a 3.5 hour diversion...

Jump to postAnyone knows why LX18 'diverted back to ZRH' today after 5 hours in the air???
It can't be tech; is it something to do with passenger manifest and DHS?? A colleague of mine was in the flight and LX did not give any reason.
Thx
9 787 for $1B?? that sounds too much.

Jump to postThat heading for this thread is an utter exaggeration and should be changed. NTSB never said B787s are unsafe. Jump to postI think when and if Porter wins at Toronto Island Airport, AC will follow suit. May be not... I will have to ask my brother who is a Maint Engr at AC for B777 and B787.

Jump to postI believe it is not X anymore as it has been officially 'launched', and designated 777-8 and 777-9. Besides, it is a derivative of 777 so no new moniker is needed. It is important for certification purposes too, as it would be incremental certification. Am I wrong here??

Jump to postThat is one of the best liveries around. Great use of color and it really accentuates the aircraft nicely. Why can't other carriers use more color instead of Eurowhite?
Jump to postI agree that the new one is bland. They could have used more metallic yellow (kind of corn husk) and the current underbelly yellow with a gentle cheat-line with the royal coat=of-arms on the tails to make it even more 'royal'. The new one looks like a temp lease with initials glued on. UGLY.
