Jump to postAlthough this livery was never used on A320 before, OS came very close. When they announced the initial order for 13 A320/321 in 1990 Airbus made renderings how the planes will look like. As this was the livery at that time it looked exactly what we see now. The website MD80.com shows them on their ...
Jump to postOn a recent trip I had the chance to compare one of those early birds to a brand new NEO. To be honest there was not much difference (even noise in the cabin).
LH does a good job in maintaining their aircraft...
So unless they run out of cycles there is no problem in keeping them flying.
Austrian officials just recently said the decision for long haul renewal has been postponed to 2018.
The word in a local aviation forum is that they will most likely get more 2nd hand 777-200ER to replace the oldest 767.
An Austrian Aviation site wrote already in October 2016, that the sixth 777 OE-LPF would be the former N-776AM, leased from Aercap , and that it will go into service in Jan. 2018 https://www.austrianwings.info/2016/10/aua-details-zu-sechster-boeing-777/ (sorry in German only) So I would say the Aerc...
Jump to postThe press release does not say that this is the 7th 777 for OS.
OS said already some month ago that they will lease one add. 777, bringing their fleet to six and that it will go into service by Jan 2018.
So the Aircap press release is just the finalization of the deal.
Yes, the blue belly was so nice.... But as they are slow on re-painting the fleet, the majority still has it. (I.e. only one (actually two, one in Star All.) out of 18 A320)
So fly them while you still can.
