Re repaints: Rumour in the company has it that repainting was completely stopped due to COVID, which makes sense. Only recently have they restarted painting, the RJ900 fleet is now fully in the new colours with FUJZ being the last. On the Q side looks like GGNW just came out for fresh paint at YQA....

I find it incredible that first flight to certification on both the 757 and 767 took about 12 months, and yet the 737 Max 7 is still not certified after 6 years from first flight.

You sure about that? While LAXYYZ may not have been a natural fit fort AS at that time, after AS ended the route, AC changed that frequency from a 747 to a 767. An odd quirk, I acknowledge, but I have collected every single AC and TCA timetable printed from 1937 to 2002 when print timetables ended....

Good points. Yes true WestJet has more deliveries of the Boeing Max 737 planes ✈️coming in the next couple of years from the Max8 to Max7 & Max 10. Half the WS Max fleet will be used on Canada to USA routes eventually. I'm not sure about future usage, but are WS still planning on taking deliver...

AA747 was the first I flew on. Was a little kid and I fell asleep in the upper deck lounge.

Porter is now reporting a Sept 8th restart for select Canadian destinations. US destinations will begin Sept 17.

Porter has also released a schedule of flights. It looks like the entire network is returning by mid-October.

UA has 1x daily SFO-YYZ right now. 738 equipment. This increases to 2x daily in June.

UA announced they would increase frequency to 3x daily this summer but this has not been loaded in the UA timetable yet. This suggests LFs are good.

I've seen a couple of the Sunwing frames in YYZ recently, including Planet Hollywood. 2 WestJet frames seem to be in long term storage at YYZ (one at the FedEx ramp, the other at the infield facility).

Small news but AA is upgrading one of the 3x daily MIA-YYZ 319s later this fall to 321 service on certain days, through the winter. This route is heavily seasonal and AC Rouge will also be upgrading from 319 to 321.

Although AA has dropped the 1x daily 319 YYZ-LAX, they will bring back the route for one week only (~Sept 7-13) with the A321, to accommodate seasonal traffic for the Toronto International Film Festival.

I do not see a problem with this at all. It is completely voluntary, and both parties are presumably satisfied. Those that object are just looking to control other people. Airlines have to establish a pecking order for trip bidding, and nobody has come up with a better or fairer one than seniority....

AA mainline will return to YYZ-ORD this summer with a 1x daily A319.

This will raise AA mainline at YYZ to 7x daily (2x 738, 5 xA319) -- 2x daily DFW 738, 3x daily MIA A319, 1x daily CLT A319 plus the ORD A319 route.

A fraction of the former AA presence at YYZ, but progress nonetheless.

AA is rapidly moving from the former largest US carrier at YYZ to the smallest. The growth from DL and lately UA has been insane. UA has grown IAH and DEN especially this winter which is impressive, and have a 2x daily SFO service beginning in a couple months. They are down to only IAD and 1x daily...

I doubt DL would add YYZ-LGA given WS has 8 737s a day on the route. If anything DL would add an LGA frequency to YUL and YOW and maybe open up a daily flight to YQB once their preclearance facility opens. Any of that would involve DL cutting something else at LGA. If the LFs on the 8x daily WS YYZ...
