They were linked off the front page with a banner for the Anniversary Sticker applied. But they’ve been on there for a couple months and there are other frames in the database wearing it.
Jump to post$6 a scan for a true drum scan is insanely cheap. I’ve got a friend who does mine on a Heidelberg Tango and he charges me $25 each (normal price $35 each).
I do mine at 6000dpi which results in a file size of about 600mb. Each.
I still shoot slide film. Usually a mix of Ektachrome 100 and Provia 100F, on my Nikon F5. I have a few images I’ve edited for upload here, but haven’t done so yet.

I guess a fill-flash using a suitcase nuke is a bit extreme?
I’m sure we can all cherry-pick outliers to prove a point.
UAL 777 looks fine to me. My United shots seem to have the same color cast. Those three other rejections look fine quality wise to me, but they do seem a bit high in the frame for the current screening standards (I’ve had a couple of rejections for the same). As a result I’ve started making an effor...
Jump to postQuality photography is all about good light. Open up a magazine, turn on the TV, or walk through an airport. You’ll see some great photos (or video) all shot in great light. We have all seen spectacular shots in poor weather; But, is that what we are talking about? I don’t know how shooting somethin...
Jump to postthe times of the 30D or the D70 my D100 and D70s were both 3000x2000 size images. And the images had quite a lot of noise. You couldn’t push/pull 6 stops like you can a modern DSLR (or the like). You couldn’t crop something heavily either. We also walked barefoot to the airport. And sometimes we go...
Jump to postPhotos with bad lighting, bad weather, poor angle/composition, distracting objects, etc. have been accepted whereas photos with perfect lighting, good angle/composition, clean backgrounds/surroundings have been rejected due to minor and often debatable editing issues (sharpness, contrast, color, et...

Jump to postThe easiest thing to do is to start with the basics. I would take your rig and take some pictures of static subjects at different focal lengths and go from there. I would also check things like your focus point(s) and what your AF is set to. If you have another lens and or body you can swap things a...
Jump to postAlso, I wanted to add; I've been using a Luminosity Mask on the blue channel (quick mask on the sky) in Photoshop on my last several wide-angle uploads.
Jump to postA few random comments. My previously rejected wide-angle shots have since been added, and I have had a couple others added since then. I will link them below. I am of the opinion that the current screening team is not familiar with wide-angle photography, the same as various people who have commente...

Some things are worth the stretch. A 707, especially in the scheme, is not something you’d want to leave on the table.
Common doesn’t mean that an image won’t be accepted, it just means that the subject is well-documented and that only the highest quality shots will make it.
To me the UPS seems blurry around the reg number - possibly from the exhaust but it is noticeable.
Two more wide-angle rejections for "Vignetting."

So yeah, wide-angle images, at least those with a blue sky, are no longer welcome at airliners.net
Good job.
I don't think the Priority Guidelines are followed at times, for instance shots of a Delta A350 at PDX added today, yet there is nothing in the guidelines that says such a frame would be considered newsworthy (the plane was doing a Troop Charter).
It is what it is.
Has something changed with regards to COVID-19 Priority Screening. I am referencing A7-ANE that was shot at MUC, taken and added yesterday.
Thank you.

Just a heads-up, I had a wide-angle image rejected for “inverse vignetting” and “distortion.” Anyone who has ever used a wide-angle lens on a perfect blue sky will know that a uniform sky color is impossible, given a wide enough field of view. The appeal was rejected within minutes (“Screener reject...

Sean - The rejection email should have a message that was left by the screener who rejected your photo. "Short final for 33L" was your caption.
You can always appeal, the Head Screeners might be able to provide some clarity.
Good luck
Honestly, it is both, IMO. It is important to establish a base-line, that way you have something to work with and can sharpen more, or less, based on a particular shot.
What program are you using to edit your photos?
And he apparently thinks people will just buy that they are legitimate when they clearly are not. Jump to postI was not aware that Sports Charters were eligible for Priority Screening, thank you for sharing that. I see your use...
Jump to postI inquired about this in private, but was told that the screeners rely on information from the uploader; so I am creating this thread. At what point is an aircraft a priority upload? Certainly not a USAF B-52 arriving at a USAF base that does heavy maintenance. Are we at the point where, if an airli...
Jump to postGiven the difference in price, and the huge jump is resolution (and file size) I would buy a D750 over a D850. Spend the rest on good glass. XQD cards are also expensive and difficult to find for sale, in a pinch. The 5D mk IV is D750 performance at D850 prices

Jump to postSeeking clarification - if an airline has a new scheme, and it is the first visit to an airport (not sure how you would know the difference between the first visit and the first photo) it counts as a priority upload?

I would take the camera/lens combo and mount it on a tripod (if you have one) and shoot a 3D object, like a chain link fence coming towards you or going away, with the VR off and check the results. You can also use a flat surface like a brick wall, but I think adding some depth will show you if any ...
Jump to postI uploaded a picture several hours ago and it’s not showing up in the queue (info is there but no photo).
Anyone else having the same issue?
Classic. Attack the messenger and ignore the real issue.
If the photos were screened correctly, and more importantly, consistently, this would be a non issue. Thus, my original question.
Also, important to keep in mind, the content creators are volunteers too.
Kas - Thank you for taking the time to reply. It does not go unnoticed that you (and Jehan) are the only active screeners in the forums. It is a sad state that the screeners who are entrusted with maintaining the standards are unable, or unwilling, to follow the guidelines needed to have an image ac...
Jump to postI've seen quite a few new images added with incorrect information, including screener uploads. If the standard can't be enforced evenly, perhaps it is time to do away with info and/or category rejections?
Jump to postWhat Kas is trying to say is that there are a few losers who constantly vote my photos, to make me look bad. It is ridiculous that so many standard shots of mine make PC. Jump to postI think you can see the actual results. Some photogs (and screeners) upload actual garbage that gets accepted. No mystery. Soft and Oversharp often go hand in hand. The rejected image also looks blurry and the contrast is way off; take a look at the main landing gear, its just a black blob, no shadow detail at all. Easiest thing to do is look at previously accepted images of the subject in question and go fr...
