Hi all,
Does anyone have any idea where I can get the flight plan in general and the draw flight plan in particular?
Thanks,
The sole purpose of this announcement is to open the Saudi skies for Israeli airlines besides the special corridor to the Golf (although in the original message by the Saudis Israel or El – Al is not mentioned  ). Not only El – AL will take this opportunity to cut the flight time to the east,...
Jump to postELAL still has 747F in the skies. Not sure how much longer. It isn't quite the end yet. As said, El Al retired its freighter (4X-ELF) too but you may still see a B747-F with El Al flight number however it is a code share with CAL. It is CAL aircrafts and crews. For El Al it is all over. I was happy...
Jump to postIt is hard to know and it definitely going to be depended on the season. This airport is not going to be a new "hub" for LY and it won't surprise me if LY doesn't have international flights from it at all. It is just a new small airport (even if it has a runway that can take the A380) for ...

How frequent are the trains?
This airport will not be an alternate to TLV. It is too far away. There is a plan for another international airport in northern Israel that will be but it progresses very very slowly.
Jump to postAny idea why in 2017 there are no jetways? True there will almost never be rain or cold there but it sure does heat up. Even a short walk from bus to steps could get sweaty Sweaty no because of the low humidity percentage in this area all year long but I can't understand it. In the summer temperatu...
Jump to postArmodeen wrote:If they operate an extensive charter schedule on the Sabbath then they already have the crews etc.
You need to understand one simple thing: to operate 7 days a week instead of 6 means increase workload by 17%. That's a lot. El Al does many of its maintenance work during the weekend (especially "small and quick" things). If they operate 7 days a week, they will need to schedule this main...
Jump to postOn Aug 31st this year a Tailwind Airline (Turkish company) B737 landed in Tel Aviv with the logo "Wings Of Lebanon" on it. It was a surprise and funny to see it in TLV but nobody in Israel made a big deal of it. In Lebanon, on the other hand, they said they will never let this aircraft (TC...
Jump to postOne explanation for the refueling stop could be that they need to do a high performance takeoff out of Tel Aviv for security reasons. Less fuel = less weight = way better climb. I saw it for few seconds after departure and it did look like it was climbing faster than an El Al B747 on its way to JFK...
Jump to postEl Al has problems with crews so they lease some aircrafts like B737, B757, B777, A343 and A345 (in July they also leased a B744).
ELY008 is normally done by a B744 and all of them are flying (and these days they only have 2 flights to JFK, not 3) so aircraft in service is not the answer.
It is not diversion, it is on purpose. Summer vacation comes to an end. There are many people to take back home to France on one hand (the B744 departed as LY227 to CDG early Monday morning as un-regular flight) and many Israelis to bring back home from AMS (LY338) on the other hand so El Al did it ...

but we definitely didn't descend below cruising altitude until we were clear of the West Bank. There is no problem to descend over the West Bank (WB) just because it is the WB. The flights from Eilat not to mention farther destinations are doing it. Of course when you come from AMM at first you eve...

All El Al Pax 747s are flying today. While the A345 is flying again as ELY007 to JFK, 4X-ELB which was supposed to do the flight flew to Heraklion (so there was a crew for this flight). I think El Al simply designs flights more than aircraft it has. Normally a B767 did the flights to YYZ. I don't kn...
Jump to postI thought they had basically a pipeline from the Israeli air force. In the past few years less and less ex-air force pilots are going to El Al. They prefer Hi-Tech companies. For quite some time there is a big unrest between management and crews. The management says the pilots do tricks to increase...
Jump to postIt is due to lack of available crew. Do they need now to ground 2 744s (after already grounded ELF "for good") to have a crew? What did they do last week or 2 weeks ago? I bet they don't have any problems to find a crew for a nice "trip" to RHO every Sat for Israir (short flight...
Jump to postI'm not sure what happened here. First of all we should remember that we are in the peak of the summer vacation. All the flights are full and El-Al doesn't have any spare aircraft if something goes wrong (definitely not a big aircraft). Normally ELY007 is done by the aircraft which did ELY008 from J...
Jump to postBA did use the L-1011 to TLV. My very first flight (and second ) in 83 was on one of them.
I can't tell since when they used it on the line.

Jump to postEl Al did get a big discount when they bought the forth B744 (4X-ELD) in the late 90's but that was as a partially compensation for the loss of the B742 freighter (4X-AXG) in Amsterdam (which was Boeing fault).
Jump to postLast week was Passover in Israel (or I should say the Jewish world) which is a big travel holiday so El Al was very active (much above average for weekends and holidays) during the first holiday (Sat, Apr 23rd) and yesterday (Sat, Apr 30th, a day after the second holiday), all under Israir code (6H)...
