If it could do LHR-SYD non stop, I think BA would be seriously interested in converting some of its current A350-1000 orders to the ULR version. Maybe even add to its current order.

Looks like the front landing gear is locked at an angle during landing. Since the aircraft is usually used for ferrying head of state, pretty sure they will fix it. I think Iran Air should avoid ordering Russian aircraft for the next 2 years. They should see who wins the 2020 US election, then make a decision. The ATRs are the most important piece of the fleet at the moment. Iran is a pretty large country and there is a solid need for good domestic travel. On January 18th, Iran Air operated a one off flight from Tehran Mehrabad to Kalaleh, with ATR 72. Likely to become a regular service soon. Kalaleh is in the north of Iran and has a population of 130 000. Huge potential to become a great route for IR. ATR aircraft clearly helping IR expand.

2017 figures for Iran Air operations in Sweden have been released. Tehran-Gothenburg-Tehran, 16175 pax (+41% YOY, ∼60% load factor), 2nd busiest intercontinental route. Tehran-Stockholm-Tehran, 32408 pax (+71% YOY, ∼58% LF), 14th busiest. Both routes are always operated by A330-200.

On January 16th, Qatar Airways 787 dream liner A7-BCT became the first 787 to land in Tehran, for a regular passenger service. A350 will go to Tehran on January 22nd.

On January 14th, Bombardier and Fly Qeshm finalised a contract for 10 new CRJ900 aircraft. Once the deal is signed, two aircraft will be delivered quarterly.

On January 11th, Parsabad Airport resumed operations, after 7 years, thanks to Iran Air's new ATR aircraft. IR will soon begin a regular service to the airport, from THR.

Tehran IKA airport has nearly finished constructing a new ramp. This will help cope with increased demand at the airport. Many airlines have returned to the airport, as a result of the nuclear deal.

Surely Iran would have every reason to walk away from the nuclear deal if Trump blocks the sale. Thats why he is taking so long to block the deals. Hope Europe ignore any efforts made by Trump to block the sales.

Have any of those not scrapped yet any chance to be converted to cargo? The floor structure of the passenger 777s are made from composites and aren't strong enough for cargo operations. To convert a 777 from passenger to cargo config would require all of the floor beams to be replaced with metal on...

Only reason why IR has not received any more aircraft, from Airbus, since March, is the problems with financing. Several aircraft were supposed to go IR but were not taken up because of the financing. Once this issue is solved I am sure the Airbus deliveries will go ahead. The Boeing deal is the one...

Today, IR began operating a second weekly flight to Gothenburg with its A330-200. Route is operated on Mondays and Tuesdays.
