Scans of my slides are made by a professional professional photographic lab here in Vienna. Nevertheless, a post manipulation process with your image manipulation software is still recommendet and takes a lot of time in order to get photos accepted here. But I think it's worth as you learn by doing....

Hi Flo,

it does not look overexposed to mee. and in my eyes, it's not bad soft. but the backround seems so have motion blurr - which is logical to me at an approach speed of 150 kts.

I like this shot ...

I'm using F5 and (sometimes) F70. The F5 is a great camera and very substantial due to material of the body (aluminium-alloy) although it is no leight-weight.

I think it's difficult to get images taken with colored filters acceppted here. Your only chance will be to make photos where use of filter is not obvious.

I only use polarizers and gradual grey filters depending on light conditions. But I'm no expert ...

Flights in Thailand are not too expensive in general ... I've paid for Bangkok - Koh Samui, Koh Samui - Krabi, Krabi - Bangkok about EUR 120,--. Taking an other airline than Thai Airways or Bangkok Airways may be even cheaper I've only been in Thailand for 1 week, so there was too less time to visit...

i've used both fuji and kodak films and have to say that skin tones are much better with kodak films. in general the red color is better displayed with kodak whereas fuji tends to have a blue cast.

take a look at the backgrounds. they're not the same ... but the a/c was. both images are taken on flight with the N323TZ.

I think you can't compare aviation photography with nature or wildlife photography where I think images of least ones have to be composed well to get accepted by magazines etc. Don't know how it is with aviation photos ... I have always tried to "compose" avation images; trying to include an interes...

6 months ago I've bought a Nikon F5 and love it ... If you can't purchase a new F5 why don't you think of buying a used one? Here in Austria they're in the price class of a new F100 - or even below.

I like number two ... gives the pic an artistic touch. And in the evening, when it's getting colder and hazy the blue tone lets the viewer imagine what the photographer felt when taking this image. But, as you wrote: if screeners think the first one has a better chance to be accepted then it's clear...
