I believe E (international) and F were the Pan Am concourses. United had a nice Red Carpet Club on F that was the former Pan Am club if I'm not mistaken.
Jump to postBrilliant words and photos as usual! I love your reports.

I'm flying Alaska next week BWI-PDX-SEA; I chose the PDX connection as it's a new route for me and it was an instant-upgrade fare. BWI is my preferred airport for the D.C. area. All things considered it is a pretty good facility.
Jump to postI was studying Italian for a trip we took years ago. After arriving in Milan we headed south on the autostrada. We stopped for a bite to eat and I was so proud to day "Due panini per favore" and not be laughed at!
Jump to postIt is a nice feature. Alaska offers it on its transcon, Hawaii and now Alaska flights. AA does have some outstanding crews. The MD-80 is worth seeking out if you have a chance. Nice report. I like the fact that AA offers the possibility to pre-order meals in First Class. That's something other airli...

Thank you - I will have to look her up and see where she's been lately. I noticed that our A350-900 is based in Munich and goes all over. My boss took LH481 DEN-MUC on Saturday 8 September and had the same tail number! Apr. 26, 2018 MUC-WAW LH1612 11:05 a.m. – 12:40 p.m. E-190 (no tail no., sorry!) ...
Jump to postThanks - MUC has a Denver connection as it was always held up as a model for the ill-fated baggage system that delayed the airport's opening back in 1994. We just couldn't get it together like those Germans! Yes, I was in Terminal 2. I used to love transiting Tokyo Narita as we would often get bus g...
Jump to postThanks; yes, it was a very nice flight. It went by very quickly, which is a good sign. I think the other breakfast choice was cereal/yogurt, but I can't quite remember. Many passengers chose to sleep longer! Good report, Kurt! Looks like you had a good flight from DEN on LH. Food looks pretty good f...
Jump to postOne correction: my seat MUC-WAW was 8F, I believe. Don't wait too long to write trip reports since all those details get forgotten!
Jump to postBack in April I took a trip to Poland. I checked around for reasonable airfares and decided instead to use some of my United miles. A round trip was 60K miles in economy and was Lufthansa on the outbound, DEN-MUC-WAW, then LOT WAW-ORD and UA ORD-DEN. A nice bonus was the chance to try the LH Airbus ...
Jump to postMCE was always a perk of flying AA as an AS elite, but that agreement ended last year. Until recently a quiet loophole allowed MCE seats to still be selected on AA flights (at least for me). A bit weird to have a good MCE seat and be in boarding group 7 (as the early-boarding option was gone for AS ...
Jump to postI can look up aircraft routings for hours and not be bored. I try to check at the podium as I'm deplaning where my aircraft is headed next but I either forget to look or forget after I've found out! Enjoyed the report! I like the bonus info on the aircraft routings you included...always fun to know ...
Jump to postI don't mind if they are ugly as long as they taste good. Which they did :biting: I remember when the Mad Dogs were everywhere. Back in 1994 and in the famous OJ trial, I remember that the flight he caught (a redeye) LAX-ORD was an MD-80. That's pretty long! I am a decaf/Baileys man myself, but I wi...
Jump to postThanks. I still fly UA when it is convenient, such as DEN-LAS ( a route where an upgrade is more likely than, say, DEN-LAX or DEN-SFO). Price is usually close to what Spririt, Frontier, Southwest (nonstop) or Delta/American (1-stop via SLC or LAX/PHX) charge. I really was bummed out when AS pulled o...
Jump to postI didn't mention that although I'm *Gold on UA (Million Miler), upgrades are rare (maybe 20% vs. more like 98% on AS). UA offered SAN-DEN for just $355. Thanks for the laugh. I chose to move my business away in 2015 and have not regretted the decision. I still accrue miles via credit card use and ma...
Jump to postAfter my long weekend in Baltimore it was time to head home. After weighing my options, I took advantage of a very inexpensive nonstop on Alaska BWI-SAN, then a separate ticket on UA. I had a voucher for United that nearly covered the cost of my ticket, plus it allowed me to take advantage of a prom...
Jump to postThank you - WN used to call those backwards seats "club" seating. I used to love being in 1C and looking down that length of the aircraft as it rotated and landed. A bit mind-blowing the first time! UA has backwards-facing business class on its 777s (it is going away with the new Polaris C...
Jump to postQuick note: the tail number of the MD-83 DFW-BWI was N9615W (ex-TWA I believe). And the second choice of meal was a "Vietnamese" salad with chicken. I really like the pre-order option on AA.
Jump to postNice report - I used to visit Dubai several years ago and you made me want to return!
Jump to postThanks - I had my pick of seats but when I'm alone I just prefer an aisle seat. I tend to get up and down quite a bit and I don't want disturb a stranger. But I always seem to be seated next to somebody who immediately puts the shades down and I'm left saying "whyyyyyyyyyyy?" Lovely day, e...
Jump to postThanks - I love them, too. The Delta 717s are quite nice and we get them quite often in Denver, usually to LAX, SEA or SLC.

Thanks - there is something so solid and safe about the Super 80 - I remember when they were EVERYWHERE! AA had 362 of them flying at their peak in 2001 (after the TWA acquisition). Something less than 40 are still flying. They have their fans for sure https://airlinegeeks.com/2018/08/07/the-quest-f...
Jump to postI just booked a PE trip on CX LAX-HKG-SIN-HKG-LAX and made sure to get bulkhead seats with their "real" leg rests. The other rows on the 777 only have foot rests. But it was VERY tedious to book on the CX website and I nearly gave up.
Jump to postI visited Baltimore recently for a family reunion. Checking fares, I was not excited about the prospect of boring United at a rather high price, so I decided to use some Alaska miles to try out some different aircraft types on American. I eventually found an interesting routing: Denver-Chicago O’Har...
