Most are put on chartered flights anyway, because it is cheaper to put together 50-60 and the personal needed on one flight than having multiple flights with just one deportation. The example with Afghanistan is stupid, as there are no commercial flights between the two countries. Tunisia would be a...

Re: Bombardier announces LoI for 31 (+30 Options) CSeries from an unnamed European Customer

I highly suspect it's LH (Group). If the pilot deal goes through (currently in ballot), they need to expand the KTV flying (overall), while it's partly shrinking, as the 4U part is moved to EW. So they need aircraft. Also the number kind of makes sense. It could be the 30 options and the one ntu by ...

They even pulled SXF-CGN with AB out of the market.

And I there is the question, how fast can the void be filled. Look at Easyjet. They plan to take a year to get their 25 planes running.

Re: Austrian Airlines long-haul fleet replacement?

What will happen is that the oldest 767s will be replaced by used 777s, to not lose the advantage of one type rating. And in 2022, maybe a bit earlier, (when the current leases for the younger frames expire) they will do a complete roll-over. Depending on the LH Group orders by then, 787s or 350s (c...

Only E2 is advertising jobs so far for the wetleases they plan to integrate. Otherwise, I see don't see anything positive on the horizon. As it seems now, the buyers won't take over the employees directly, but force them to reapply. Especially the people with the most generous contracts (read old LTU) are unhappy about it.
