Re: Swiss aviation thread - 2018

The press release is a bit weird, they closed a deal for 8 E190s (E1/E2) from Helvetic. This is in addition to 4 E190s which are under a long-term wetlease. However, there are/were more than 4 E190s flying for Swiss. As such I read it that they are replacing the 3 Q400s opb OS. 1 is supposed to be r...

The illegal part is the consequences for the employees, which are "transferred" to other bases. In most European countries, you can't just change the place of work, meaning you have to allow for commuting or make a payout to make the person redundant (usually expensive). But in this case ...

Curious not being a lawyer, are you allowed to continue with a course of action after a court has found against you and the appeal has not been heard? Shouldn't things stop until it is decided? Basically, as I read it, closing the base is not illegal per se. The illegal part is the consequences for...

ZRH has a complex layout. In my experience, there are a lot of slot delays when there are easterly winds. In normal cases (westerly winds, I think like 90% or so of the times) it has a good on time performance.

LH owns all their A220s, so there are no A221s on the lease market as LX is the (currently) only operator. I suspect KE owns their A223s as well, but I think BT announced plans on SLBs, however as far as I know for H2 2018 and/or 2019. So there might be no leased A220 so far.

I can't believe that there will be more than 2-3 big players long term in VIE. So basically 1-2 have to go out of OS/EW, OE/FR, VY/VK, W6.

VK and OE are pouring in the highest investment, Wizz has/had the first mover advantage and maybe the lowest cost structure.
