Lets have a little office pool here when DL will exit the route they havn't started flying yet.Low yield route and DL is going to start serving it from 2 different points. So, pick the day and month they will exit.

Only been flying for 23 years? DL would never be interested in this plane unless it had another 10 years on it. In their view it still has 'break in' oil in the engines from the factory.

UA is not going to order Airbus, even if they were free. UA has already announced they want to be the launch customer for the 797 and Boeing will cut them a deal to take both which means Airbus has no shot at this regardless of what they do. Reminds me of a couple of years ago when Airbus offered UA...

Doesn't matter if UA hub is in the middle of the ocean. DL used to have significant jump on everyone with purchase of PA and then the NW merger, but that is not the case now. I had no idea that UA was so big across the Pacific; their ASM's are bigger than DL and AA combined. As for Atlantic, Q1 2018, UA and DL are pretty close. Looks like DL let slip the PA purchase over time in addition to the NW merger. They should be eons ahead of their competitors.

Can't see them ordering the 330s; it would be another fleet type when they are trying to simplify. I'm thinking it will be 78's with a few more 9's for expansion.

Anyone who thinks that AA or DL are catching or caught UA in the Pacific has been breathing too much jet exhaust. DL had a chance but squandered the NW route structure, stayed too long with a hub at NRT, now is playing catch-up to UA. As for AA, they are a distant 3rd to both of the big guys.

And they will NOT merge with AA because the Fed's are not going to allow it. Doesn't matter how much AA pulls down JFK, they would also have to pull down BOS and various other cities as well. The Feds would make them give up so much, it isn't worth it.

Or you mean to say that you hope B6 gets additional slots. Reality is they have MAJOR operational issues that are not being addressed and only take it out on passengers. You do not reward 'bad behavior' and the DOT should ignore them until those issues are corrected.

Probably because the actual cost of each flight is much cheaper in ATL than any of the major hubs served by any carrier. So of course you would flow where its cheaper and you can dominate. Basic supply and demand.

I did a quick count and though the diagram is not the best, but I see UA will have upwards of 77 gates and share another 12; total of 89? At least that what it shows with all the planes at the 3 concourses. If that is indeed the case, good luck to AA, DL, and anyone else because that is about 40-43%...
