UA adding service to Elmira

There new schedule came it and it has service again from Newark to Elmira. They just discontinued the service not even a year ago (Nov 29, 2016) and made a big deal about how that route was losing them money, why would they start up a route that they recently stopped?

SYR usually sees UPS 757, but during the holidays I have seen as big as a 767, today there was a A300.

During the holiday season there is obviously a dramatic increase of packages traveling around the country and around the world. Have UPS, FedEx, or any other cargo carriers increased flights or used larger aircraft to certain cities during this time of year?

Many routes in the Caribbean where they are flown by a regional carrier like LIAT or Caribbean Airlines on ATR's and they compete on the same routes with British Airways 777's and Virgin Atlantic's 747's, and A330's.

The reason (or at least one reason) they are keeping the Dash-8 for a while longer is because of HXD and they're lengthening of their runway not being finished yet.

I'm guessing what will happen on MIA-BUF if it goes well is it will stop on January 6th (like it is planned to) then start it again around mid-February so that they can have a proper inaugural flight.

In terms of SYR, UA will have to hurry for DEN and AA for MIA or F9 might beat them. I don't think SYR can sustain DEN service with WN, BUF can even sustain it.
