As regards Alitalia, it seems the carrier is set to announce IAD launch for S19 after a successful negotiation with J-V partners (AF-KL, DL).
Maybe a sign that there is still a future for AZ in the SkyTeam J-V across the pond?

Today's updating shows that Air Italy in W18/19 plans to reduce domestic flights to Lamezia (from 14xw to 11xw), Palermo/Catania/Naples (from 14xw to 12xw) - when compared to what previously scheduled for the same winter season.

Definitely not that the reason, fleet shortage.
They are going to lease out the 4th A332, which has just joined the fleet few days ago, to Finnair for the current month.

In recent update Norwegian seems to have given up plans to launch LAX-MXP.
Reservation on all flights is now only available at full-fare Premium Class and Economy Class.
The airline originally planned to operate Milan-Los Angeles 4 times a week eff from 16JUN.

On a side note, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Italy (ENAC) 74.575 pax flew in 2017 between DFW and FCO, which means 252 pax/per flight on board B772ER aircraft (average LF 87,8%).
It was a new route launched on May 5 till Sep.
