Yesterday in Buenos Aires AR and AZ announced plans to enter a joint business agreement on flights between Argentina and Italy. The deals are subject to regulatory approval and once approved it will allow the airlines to cooperate on scheduling, marketing and other business functions. Press releases...Jump to post
This year AV is also expected to launch 2 new destinations in Europe (between CDG/FCO/FRA/MUC) from Bogotá.
Are there any updates ?

So it's 2 new EU destinations ie BCN and GVA from S18...correct? Correct. They also increase other destinations in Europe, with the most surprising being FCO wich goes from 7 to 9 weekly by introducing a new morning departure on Fr/Sa. It's something uncommon since all the European flights leave at...Jump to post
To me Houston-Rome is very likely to happen once (and in case that) LH takes over AZ this year. A good route for a S19 launch. I dont think so at all. LH has LX and SN in their group. If LH was interested in adding IAH from another market, they would have done it by now. I was referring to UA not t...Jump to post
Definitely a false rumour that they are going to launch such a new route.
The only truth is that it's ages since EK has been granted 4 more weekly flights to the US passing thorough Italy.
Curious to note that several people keep complaining on Meridiana FB page (in both English and Italian) about the cancellation of those "historical" Southern Italy - JFK direct flights. Much more numerous than people happy for the new JFK/MIA routes out of MXP. I'm just wondering if it wou...Jump to post
LAX MXP LAX 94,000 pax flew in 2016 p2p and nobody offers nonstop flights so this is a good niche market for DY to hopefully exploit and stimulate. Well not exactly the same figures Bjørn Kjos referred today to the Italian media. He said that over 41,000 pax flew between L.A. and Milan (in the last...Jump to post
So hardly there were 0 wide bodies in 2007 in BCN. Back to the early '00 there were just 2 DL flights to JFK and ATL (seasonal). That was the large amount of long-haul scheduled flights out of El Prat. The 3rd one, specifically to the United States as well, was launched in MAY05 to PHL. It was a se...Jump to post
Level is sticking it to AR, while Level will probably never fly from Madrid to EZE, it will likely have a base in FCO at some future date. Rome to EZE will fly with Level soon. No way it happens. For the time being the bilateral agreement between Argentina and Italy is very restrictive, allowing on...Jump to post

As per new Alitalia's CCO (former EK's Italy Country Manager), the Italian carrier is ready to launch Rome-Johannesburg (JNB) next summer.

Is AZ daily to GRU? Nice to see this on JJ metal again! Currently it's a daily 772 service which is going to be increased to 10xw by next month. http://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/273197/alitalia-increases-sao-paulo-flights-in-nw17/ To me it looks like LATAM is adding Rome pretty the ...Jump to post

I would have appreciated YVR-FCO as well during the summer.
Anyway good to see AC keeps expanding to Europe from Canadian Pacific Coast (ZRH, CDG, DUB, LGW, FRA in recent times)
I still have a hard time thinking DFW AMS will go 777, as I mentioned earlier in the thread rumor was that it was going 787 (which would make more sense). 777 would seem like too much aircraft, considering I do not recall DFW-AMS with crazy high loads this season. Good to see PHL AMS going 767, as ...Jump to post
Interesting to note that AA now displays Boeing 787-8 operation from Chicago to all the European destinations in S18
Just wondering why they don't switch the overcrowded JFK-MXP route (too much competion) to PHL as well (just like ZRH).Jump to post
MSP had flights to FCO last summer, but it just didn't pan out. I think loads were averaging around 65-70%. IMO it failed because it wasn't marketed well, and the USD$ didn't have the buying power to make traveling to Italy attractive. Something was pretty strange with that flight. When DL announce...Jump to post

FCO is very seasonal and spikes quite a bit in the summer months. That said, AA has a ton of capacity to FCO, probably the most out of the big 3. July: PHL-333 CLT-333 DFW-772 JFK-772 ORD-772 Correct, big 3 in July: AA- 310 flights- 87,023 seats- Destinations: CLT, DFW, JFK, ORD, PHL DL- 248 flight...Jump to post
