RE: Mesaba News Str8 From CEO Mouth

Hi all.Sorry - was away yesterday.Distantly related,Azjubilee! And no, I doubt it in 2001...possible,but doubtful....I'd moved on after 99.There's a story to the doors which has to wait a while..and yes, the damper mod is often done on a C check: its only that when your maintenance provider does it ...

RE: Mesaba News Str8 From CEO Mouth

XJFA : Hello. Now that cost scenario sounds more like it - around USD28000 per aircraft for the mod. And the heavy maintenance also makes sense : most operators who have incorporated the mod find that the first time maintenance do the work it takes quite a while : like anything else after they have ...

Thanks AZJ - I thought that mod must be the one- preadvised as an All Operator Message in August 2002. I don't mean to doubt you in any way but I think the unit price per mod kit previously mentioned is wayyyyy short of USD1.5 million.I will enquire. I suppose you guys have the new cockpit doors - m...

RE: Mesaba News Str8 From CEO Mouth

Hi guys..a few thoughts from the European angle. There is quite a potential market here for the ARJs which might get released from Mesaba : don't forget that they are Cat 3 capable ( although Mesaba do not, as far as I know, use that capability) and there are basically no used ARJs to be had. The le...

Hello everyone. Slightly off topic but the former Sabena site with arrival and departures (SRADIstart.nav) appears to have vanished. Does anyone know the new reference? Thank you.

BRU - BOD by rail is reasonably straightforward. There is one direct TGV daily departing Brussels 0704 and arriving Bordeaux 12.58 ( 5h.58).Other times by connecting services. The flight time is 1 hour 10 minutes.

Look at it this way.. some of the posts on 'the other forum' give away far more information likely to be of use to anyone with bad intentions than your photograph. Is it not the case that BA are actually applying a bit of lateral thinking? They are one of the most politically correct airlines around and even exceed governmental diktats if social issues are affected. Indeed, having taken government orders to new lengths in the security arena, is it possible tha...

Before this goes off in the wrong direction. Here are some facts. Albanian Airlines DOES have an AOC and operates BAe146 Series 200 ZA - MAL in its own right. It is likely that a second example willl be added later this year. The TU134 operates only to Istanbul due to noise restrictions elsewhere he...

Dredging into the sands of mental antiquity the last F27 variant ( F27 - 500 with B - Series Flight Deck) had a Vmo of 227 knots. The F50 was certificated by the Dutch RLD as an F27 Variant and had the same Vmo.There were various problems over this certification issue since some authorities consider...

All in all I am inclined to think that this is probably a wind up. However, taking this individual at face value - whatever that might be - I wonder what the Manufacturers' Operations Manual of his aircraft type has to say on the subject of take off performance ? Of course, it seems likely that his ...

Presumably, then,411A, during those 30 years you have never had occasion to depart from a runway which is field length limited? Would you perhaps care to modify your remarks with particular reference to 4 jet transport aircraft departing ASPEN? Thank you.

Hello VASI. Not the easiest question to answer.Florence ( Peretola) Airport is, as you will know, somewhat restricted on account of its location and runway length. Runways are 05 and 23 : landing 05 puts you towards the high ground BUT gives you a total runway length of 1650 metres. Since 2 November...

Good Morning D - AQUI. D-AQUI. In strong wind conditions it would not be unusual to select a different flap setting from 33 for the landing provided landing distance was adequate - which is certainly the case at BRU 25L /R ,02/20 and SXB 05/23. What you would have seen last week would have almost certainly been 24 flap la...

The 146 / RJ family was designed for sector lengths of maximum 2 hours . The economics and performance were not intended to be competition for the 737/DC9/A320 families, unless there exist very specific reasons ( airport and terrain constraints, for example) why few other aircraft were useable.
