Personally, I think the new livery doesn't look too bad. The fuselage is going to be painted in a light and smooth pink and the logo except that too large "swoosh/arch" represents Japan Airlines very well. In fact the swoosh brakes the imagine of a "female" livery enormously !
Jump to postwell, the livery isn't that special but it looks quite cool and impressive on a 744, indeed ! Unfortunately the fuselage is again WHITE !
try this linke - sorry, just a very small pic !

well, I have just checked out JALs japanese website. There is a press release on their new LOGO with all the meanings and descriptions of the new logo. Quite interesting, but I can't load the pics !!! Anyone else ?
Jump to postwell, it does not sound that odd, but isn't there a pic somewhere ???
Jump to postYep, I believe they have. I've heard that their first 777-246ER would be delivered in august. JAL has recently retired one of their MD-11s (JA8585), probably because the 777 and new 767-346ERs have joined the fleet.
Jump to postWell, I've heard that JAL is introducing new Boeing 767-300ERs and Boeing 777-200ERs to their fleet that will replace the entire MD-11 fleet (9a/c still in operation). Well, actually that's nice, but I've also heard that these aircraft would be fitted with a new Inflight Entertainment System; MAGIC3...
Jump to postHey, I've got the bird's names of JAL MD-11s; well, I won't write down the japanese names as they probably wouldn't help you... . JA8580 - Tufted Puffin JA8581 - Pitta Brachyura JA8582 - Red-Crowned Crane JA8583 - Golden Eagle JA8584 - Okinawa Rail (well, my favourite !!!) JA8585 - Hodgson's Hawk Ea...

Jump to postSounds great, JAL flying international routes with B777s ! But, I was just wondering wether they would change the current B777-200/300 (domestic Super Seat/Economy) seat configurations or wether they would introduce new B777s for international routes ?
Any info ?
Yep, I've jsut seen it on BBC World News. Nothing on CNN yet.
Jump to postDidn't know ? I have now flown three times with AirOli - much better than any other airline I've experienced until now. The Economy Class is superb - great inflight entertainment and great legroom !!! Weisslingen Airport is Switzerland's newest airport - very fast check-in times and various duty fre...
Jump to posthey Cactuscmh ! it is so nice to read how good the service on JAL was ! thanx. I quite often choose JAL whenever possible and I always admire the hard-working JAL crew. Much better than other European Airlines ! But why does JAL never rank as a best airline ? Often "The Beest Airlines of the Year" i...
Jump to postStretch8 : Last week I took SR168 from Zurich to Tokyo Narita in Economy and I was raelly disappointed by their service ! First of all the Flight Attendants were not really motivated to make the passengers feel comfortable - they did not help stowing luggage nor did they look after you when pushing ...
Jump to postWell, last week I took SR168 from Zurich to Tokyo Narita and it was a rather boring flight because they did not switch on the AirShow for about 6hours ! Shortly after take off from Zurich the captain told us that we were going to overfly Mongolia, China, South Korea and then head for Narita from the...
Jump to postWell, to me it seems that JAL Technics are doing their job very well !
Well, if JAL is wanting to operate unpainted passenger planes I believe they will introduce a new paint scheme as soon as JAS' and JAL's merger is complete = probably new name and new livery !
Jump to postHey, FFlyer, Haneda is no domestic airport ! Ever been aboard a plane that landed at Haneda ? Even it was a domestic flight the say you've just landed at Tokyo International Airport - Narita is then NEW Tokyo International Airport. Well, there are several international routes out of Haneda. Asiana a...
Jump to postWell, in japanese it is as Bombayhog says in his post, but mostly we say "tripleseven" (toripuru sebun).
Jump to postI believe JAL has recently finished refitting all 747-400s with the new entertainment system in "JAL's Y" (Economy) called MAGIC1 and MAGIC2. The new cabins look great - new seats, new PTVs and new interior design. Looks magnificient. The interior is held in light grey and white. On older Jumbos hte...
Jump to post1). To compete with other airlines is normal otherwise we could not call it a free market ! 2/3). Jump to postwow, that bird looks really great ! I would love too see some interior pics very, very soon !!!

Jump to postHi there ! Well, I believe ther is another problem in Japan's modern society that even appears to be a problem aboard airplanes ! As a half Japanese this problem is well known to me. It seems that in Japan there are a lot of men who like to have some "contact" with other women, mostly in crouded are...
Jump to postWell, LH's inflight service is not that great as many of you might think ! The F/As are not always very helpful and friendly, but the inflight food is the best I have ever had over the skies, indeed, even in Economy Class !
Jump to postDid you know that JAS is the sole airline that offers three classes of travel to its domestic passengers ? While JAL and ANA just have the Super Seat and Economy Class. JAS offers three classes of travel on their Rainbow 7s = Super Seat, Rainbow Seat, Regular Seat. And, I believe destinations in Chi...
Jump to posthey, I am looking for the back issues of JAL, CAL, CX and OZ=Asiana inflight mags dating 7-2000. I need them for my semester work about Okinawa at school !

Julian
hey guys ! does anyone of you have a back issue of an inflight mag (JAL, CAL, CX, OZ=Asiana) dating July 2000 ??? I need all the articles written about Okinawa - southernmost prefecture of Japan to write my semester work at school ! well, if you do have any copies left f them please contact me ! Tha...
Jump to postLet me see, I would definitely re-introduce Swissairs former flight from Basel-Mulhouse (EuroAirport) to Newark airport, using an A310-300 or the future airliner A330-500 ! Well, the aircraft might be smaller so it would be great if Crossair would introduce a flight on this route using Boeing737-700...
Jump to postWell, it was actually obvious that Crossair must have ordered Airbus aircraft instead of Boeing jets => Qualiflyer Group. And, if Crossair needs a higher capacity aircraft on some of its routes they can easily operate a Swissair A321 with the same cockpit crew, for example. Crossairs A320s could als...
Jump to postWell, in Japanese airline is called "koku", but we rarely say "Nippon-koku" (for JAL) but "Nihon-koku".
Swissair, for example, is called "su-i-su koku", Swiss-Airline.
Did you know that All Nippon Airways means "Zen-ni-ku" ?
rgds, julian
If JAL introduces the already ordered B777-300ER they will probably get rid of old Boeing 747 models such as the series -200 still used on routes to Australia, Europe, South America and Asia. The Boeing 747-300s will probably remain a little longer in JALs fleet because they began to refit some of t...
Jump to postJust a question ?! The report of Reuters says that JAL would replace their MD-11 fleet by 777-200ERs that will join the fleet in about two years. Is it not better, JAL would first replace their pretty old DC-10 fleet before getting rid of the much newer MD-11 fleet ? I believe that JAL will probably...
Jump to postThe new A340-600s will be probably used also on the ZRH-NRT as well as on the ZRH-KIX routes.
Well, just a question ! Where is your departure and arrival airport ??? If you do not where you board and deboard the aircraft there is no one who could help you finding the best route for travel !
thanx
Hi guys !
here is a question : does anyone know how I could get the safety on board videos shown on airliners just before take off ??? is there any homepage out there where I could down load them ?
thanx for any info !

Hi all !
Well, maybe someone could help me with my question ? Where can I get trolleys, aircraft seats and other stuff out of an airplane ??? Does anyone know a site where I could order this stuff ?
Well, thanx for the info !
I have recently flown KLM from ZRH-AMS-NRT and back and I must say, that KLM is a pretty good airline ! Ground services were of good quality, inflight service as well, but the thing is that Swissair has got more comfortable seats aboard their aircrafts than KLM has. Well, that is a little remark of ...
Jump to postWell, Swissair really offers a good inflight service overall ! Note the delicious inflight meals which should now include a big plate of salad (fresh and healthy...smile), in Economy ! If you fly Economy on longhaul there will also be a small amenity kit and a bottle of water in the seatpocket in fr...
Jump to postFlying wide bodies on short haul routes is pretty easy in Japan ! Japans domestic flights last mostly no longer than 1.5 hours (exept Japan Trans Ocean Air that operates some domestic flights out of Haneda to Okinawa=around 3 hours). Well, just an example of the Haneda-Sapporo route: JAL operates 13...
Jump to postWell, for me it was the Boeing 747-281B, JA 8174, All Nippon Airways ! It was nice to sit in a more or less old aircraft, but the thought that this aircraft and of course the earli...
Jump to postHi ! I would like to have some info about Korean Air. In my childhood I used to fly with Korean Air on very long routes such as Zuerich-Bahrain-Jeddah-Bangkok-Seoul-Tokyo. Jump to postAA737-800 ! On a Swissair flight I even let the whole cabin crew sign my log-book ! That was very funny and really ask the cockpit crew to give you some flight info and their signes !!! On a recent ANA flight the captain wrote me a certificate for flying with a Boeing 747-200B ! And on a KLM flight ...
Jump to postWell, I think japanese carriers are doing very well. Just think of the short domestic flights flown by JAS, JAL or ANA and other domestic airlines. You are able to fly with very modern aircrafts (such as B777-200/300 or B747-400s, just to name a few) and there are even airplanes that are fitted with...
Jump to postHi AA737-800. Well, I always thought I was the only one who does that ! I have always got my flight log-book on all my flight since three years ! Jump to postAgain and again - the same questions... . I actually do not think that all of you have ever experienced a First Class flight on the named airlines. Jump to postHey guys ! I have read your replies and as a half jap I have to add that Tokyo Haneda is NOT a domestic airport !!! There is a route operated by China Airlines that offers Taipeh and Hawaii non stop flights from Haneda ! I also doubt that JAL would fly from Haneda ! Ther are no international routes ...
Jump to postTo me Frequent Flyer Programs are very important. Although I am actually a non-frequent flyer, compared to business travelers, I earn a lot of miles when flying with Swissair.
