I've never had to do exactly this but perhaps it will work. Try going to AS website and enter your confirmation code or e-ticket number. If it recognizes your reservation, it should let you assign a seat.

Have you tried seatcounter.com? It doen't always say exactly how many seats are available in each fare code if more than either 7 or 9 seats (depending on airline) but will give you a relative comparison of availability.
