Tomorrow's (AUG 08) LH472 from DUS will be operated by A330-200 D-ALPH in the new Air Berlin c/s. Scheduled arrival time is 1730LT (aircraft will arrive from LAX before flying the YYZ leg). There is no 400D support in CS1 AFAIK. You will need at least CS2. The latest version of Adobe Camera RAW (incl. the 40D update) only works in CS3.

I purchased an Optech rain cover on ebay a few weeks ago (US seller). 6.99 USD + shipping ... I would not use it in pouring rain, but it looks quite OK for a shooting in light rain. I did not have the chance to test it though.
