Re: Tristar at BA - cabin & config & long-haul routes

Really enjoying the thread and the old photos! Not for the first time in a discussion about historical airline operations I was reminded about Alexander Frater's book (published 1986) 'Beyond the Blue Horizon' about his mid 1980s trip from London to Brisbane. It includes a detailed account of the fi...

Re: Jumping over the Andes, a week at Buenos Aires and a Dreamliner Experience

Enjoying it so far! The quality of these cameras in phones nowadays is extraordinarily good. The building work at SCL is never ending, and I see that it looks like it will now go over the old national terminal site (later cargo??). I miss the old terminal with the terrace and cafe .. great views! Am...

Re: A blast from the past: DC-10-30 - When VA was still VIASA…

Splendid! The cabin shots are great and the empty interior really reminds me of a VA flight I took in 1987 to SCL. After the Lima stop it went from packed to deserted and I could choose from many empty rows to get window views. I seem to recall that the return to CCS was non-stop; a different routin...

Over the years I've seen El Al fly B737, B757, B767 and B777 on the Tel Aviv - London LTN route. Recently the 737 flights have out numbered the 767 which used to be the most common. Not seen a 747 ever do that flight.

Rather than respond to any specific question, I thought that I'd try and add just to the list of reg tracking resources. We've heard about the LHR and LGW movements website, the BTS website, ACARS listings and FR24. There is also http://www.planefinder.net that will give you a longer look back than ...

What an interesting report. I was intrigued to read about the OCCRE card and San Andres' present population problems. How new is that situation? Your photos show some things haven't changed though!
