Re: SFO landing Rwy 01R today

I flew in today from ZRH on LX38 (a773). Initially I thought we were lined up for 28L but then we made a Kai Tak like circling approach to 1R. The pilot flying made a very nice landing too. I saw a video on IG of LX38 landing and man, it was spectacular. Listing to ATC yesterday, a few pilots confi...

Thought about that but with a 772 flying SFO-HND daily, is this really required by the FAA?

Yes, they do for a new aircraft type.. and a 77W is considered as such.

Good to know, Thanks.

Talking of UA 77W, I saw that it flew SFO-NR last week and returned 2 days later. That's a looooong crew familiarization route. Any idea what it was doing there. Came back as UA 2120 on Friday, empty (figured it was empty because it was FL410 most of the route there and back which is too high for a...

NOOOOOOOOOOO! That sucks. Flew on one in Dec, UA58 SFO-FRA. Figured it was my last UA 747 ride though. As much as I have avoided these birds the last decade, I will surely miss them.
