Re: UA 77W and 772

UA must feel good about their position at ORD as they only fly the oldest wide bodies at O’Hare and still use 757s seasonally. No 787s and only the occasional 77W. Once upon a time I used to do a lot of work in Chicago and flew out of ORD often. It does seem odd that the home airport doesn’t get an...

“Circadian Rhythm problems” Lmao! Probably Carpal Tunnel as well! Very interesting- thanks! So, is it safe to say that the B707 was the consistent, reliable (and fastest) airplane that opened up regular transcontinental routes? You know what gave me this itch? MadMen! Re: Amusing Airfare Anomalies

So, this Skiplagging or hidden city thing would not be possible on united.com? I’ve sometimes looked into flying to “near SF/LA” cities. On UA.com its cheaper to go through IAH or DEN in F on 737’s the whole way, the options to go EWR-LAX/SFO-XXX are painfully higher priced even if LAX/SFO was not m...

With 18 77W all taken up, and a number of other routes that would have been great for EWR, I’m surprised the 2nd top-off order never happened. I would have figured a couple more EWR Asia (possibly FRA) routes could fill a 77W out of EWR (Eg; HKG)? The refurbished 77E’s would be fine on many European...

Non Stops are obviously more desirable and more expensive. As hard as it is for people to understand airfares are not priced by distance but by markets and DFW-Anywhere is not the same market as AUS-DFW-Anywhere. Are nonstops more than one-stops? History of USA transcontinental flights?

After surfing the internet for which airline really started the nonstop East/West coast and who became the leaders of those transcontinental routes turned up pretty unclear. It seems TWA #2 was the first passenger jet flight using a 707 from West to East. I know United was there early on with NYC to...

Actually, I would say that Thai was the first to BOLDLY use purple. I think Walter Landor launched that livery in the early 70’s- I can check.
