I've never heard of Alaskan Airlines..I know Alaska flies that route..and they are adding a daytime trip soon...Why is UA a "real" airline oppose to Alaska? Do you have to be losing money or be bankrupt before you become "real"?

I would love to see Alaska get rid of the euro white. Maybe a silver paint job and get rid of the green in the cheat line...silver and blue could make the a/c look more modern. Keep the Mo and the current font for sure!!

All of those flights are suppose to get digEplayers..its a matter of getting them from the manufacturer...basically all flights over 3 hours are suppose to get digEplayers on them

Most of the 700's now have leather seats...as do both 800's...by the end of the year the 400 and 900's will have leather. The 400 are getting new seats all together. The <acronym title="Air Madagascar">MD</acronym>'s will also be getting new seats with leather..they are set to be completed in early ...

Alaska is the whore in the airline industry. They are great at what they do..why should they change the wonderful codesharing agreements they have? Alaska won't join any alliance, they have an excellent marketing agreement with 10 major airlines as it is.

I believe AS and NW have an agreement that NW will not fly SEA-ANC and some other routes for that matter. That's why crews have a very high boarding priority for commuting on AS...higher than AS employees traveling on pleasure. Back in 98 I believe NW flew Sea-Anc for a month in the summer..they day...

Live TV can not be turned on or used when flying over Canada due to law (I want to say FCC laws)...thats one the reason's Alaska can't see spending all the money on the otherwise great system

Rumor is a 2nd daily flight will be added late summer or fall...the flight is suppose to be a red eye. They have already added another BOS for the spring schedual..its a red eye

Jetblue will never be albe to compete in the market...and their Live TV won't work on that run..that's one of the main reason's Alaska hasn't bought it. The Sea-Anc market is Alaska Airlines,,and I hope it will remain that ways for years to come

I was shocked when I first read this..but thinking about it I believe that Airbus might just work for AS..I think it would be a better fit overall..since they can range from 318--321...Also I can see a merger with F9 working...not HP..god help us if that happens

Alaska Air Group uses Sabre, but they have developed their own CRS that works on top of Sabre...more like a Window's based product that is easier to train and use.

Alaska won't be ordering 757's anytime soon. If anything they will order the 737-900X if Boeing follows though with it. Alaska serves BOS, DCA, IAD, EWR,and soon MIA with all 737-700. All the east coast flights are doing well. Look for more east coast flying in the future. Also they have recently applied for fly LAX-DCA..that too will be served with a 700.

Alaska will not join an alliance. They have one of the best mileage plans in the industry. Joining an alliance would force them to drop some of those mileage agreements with certain carriers. The NWA/KLM alliance is much stronger with AS and especially QX than the AA partnership. Alaska prides itsel...

Alaska Airlines does not serve YYZ. It did serve YYZ from LAX in the early 90's with a MD80 but it was a flop. Don't plan on seeing AS in YYZ anytime soon. If anything that must be a codeshare with AA or NW.

Alaska Airlines is the best. It wins awards every year. First Class service depends on the time of day..Alaska always serves meals at meal times. In first to LA you would get a hot meal, chicken, fish, pasta. It actually good food and nice presentation. I wouldn't fly anyone else!
