Re: Washington State Air Service Discussion 2018

DE really did quite well, almost 95%. Impressive Their flights are packed in the summer, and don't do half-bad in the winter either. If I had to guess, I'd say that they carry a lot of cruise traffic. Anxiously awaiting MT's LF on SEA-MAN to see if they are in line with SEA-FRA, since Condor is a p...

Re: Alaska Airlines to announce new markets soon

I wouldn't necessarily say that. SFO-FLL has competition (including SFO-MIA), whereas PDX-FLL does not. The FLL/MIA area is currently the largest unserved market from PDX. Sounds like a good route for jetBlue to start up then, who is much better at the transcon game and looks to be re-concentrating...

Re: Alaska Airlines to announce new markets soon

I was kind of hoping AS would open more secondary CA airports like SCK and BFL, but I don't think it's very likely. Besides SCK and BFL, I would think they could do well at CCR and TLV. But on the flip side, they aren’t even in LGB, ACV, and RDD anymore which are probably bigger markets. CCR would ...

I wonder about that too. But I noticed AA/AS don't codeshare on SFO/LAX-PHX routes. So maybe. AA and AS cannot codeshare on hub-to-hub routes. Plus how do you explain AS flights to DAL, DFW, ORD, PHL, LAX, etc. In the end, they won't hold back if they think their FF's want it or if it secures more ...

PR makes sense, however MH and SQ would probably come to YVR first than SEA. However YVR is close to SEA so it could be a test if SEA could be an additional destination. I would love to see the following cities for AS: JAX, PBI, CLT, TUL, DSM and MEM.

The 707-347Cs were all gone by mid-1980, and the L-188s gone by 1972. They wouldn't have flown this service to Prudhoe.

My guess was a contract to fly workers using 727-200s.

SEA-Japan can certainly support 3 carriers anyway. You're talking about a 763 (DL), a 788 (NH), and soon another 788 (JL), not 3x 77Ws here. DL will be upgauging SEA-NRT to the A359 next summer.
