AS taking out an another carrier in the state of Alaska that many depend on is not a good look for them. It would be akin to how some saw Hawaiian after the demise of Aloha, although completely different and wrong for many reasons. AS would be wise to stay in THEIR lane and not the other way around...

I almost wonder if MNL or HKG might have been better choices for DL out of SEA (yes, HKG did fail before but the A339 might change the calculus a bit and UA increasing LAX to 2x/day shows some potential). It’s very doubtful DL would try SEA-MNL or SEA-HKG. DL will simply funnel MNL and HKG passengers through ICN. SEA will never be a mega TPAC hub for DL. DL's flight time makes it clear that they are doing this flight to feed their US network only and they are not that interested in TPE point of sale, or connection beyond TPE. So my guess is they have a big corporates contract that requires TPE to be added to the network and SEA is the least bad opt...

SEA is much smaller O&D market than SFO or LAX so presence of DL is not trivial. You also have to expect that CI and DL will probably cooperate with TPE point of sale. One positive note for JX is the DL flight seems to be timed for optimal US-connection so maybe there is room for JX from TPE O&...

AS isn’t going to buy Ravn, full stop. If/when Ravn goes under they will partner with somebody else. AS’ views their two biggest gaps in Alaska as DUT and ENA. Unless AA intends on expanding their marketshare at SEA, I just don't see the point of basing any crew at SEA. All the destinations that AA serves nonstop are hubs. Seeing is believing.
