Re: Are commercial airline pilots the highest paid profession in the USA?

Thanks, aaron747 very interesting detail. Comparing mere money is too cramped, the comparison needs to be purchasing power and lifestyles. Cultures vary greatly in what they want for money and lives. Being on different sides of a union vote could be far more acrimonious potentially than a temporary issue between a seasoned couple. I definitely would not draw a line in the sand for couples, in most cases, professional couples are probably excellent with CRM, as stated upthread.

Re: Are commercial airline pilots the highest paid profession in the USA?

More interesting question, how do US pilot compensation compare EU or Asia? Salaries in the US are generally much higher. Over here in Japan, professional salaries tend to run 20-30% less than US counterparts in many industries, and 40-50% in some others. Starting salaries for the major airlines ar...

Most of the collapsed buildings are aged before 1990s building code revisions. You could tell from some of the footage they had inadequate column width, soft first floors, and other weaknesses. In a region like the east coast, with so many M7+ events, you simply have to build to code or retrofit.
