the B-52 is my favorite. yeah the B-1 looks cool when it flys or should i say if it flys. with a 46% reliability rate nobody should fear the B-ONE as the say "sometimes your in the B-ONE and sometimes the B-ONE is in you "

Mine is TU-160. The biggest one ever built. The second place would be TU-95 and its modifications, and the third place in my heart belongs to B-52 - just an awesome plane.

B-52. Huge, lumbering, and those dirty engines' smoke just screams brute force.

And I just love the B-52, it's been flying for 50 years, they tried to replace them quite a few times but they just keep flying!

B-52 in particular the G and H models. I grew up not to far from a SAC base, so I have always been fond of the B-52. It was once rumored that the 416th BW would recieve B-1B's in the late eighties but it never happened and in 1993 the last B-52 left... sad day indeed

Being an airliner fanatic, my favorite bomber is the Boeing B-47. This is the grandfather of all modern jet airliners from the 707 to the A380. Note the classic modern lines essentially unchanged to this day. This aircraft cruised at modern airliner speeds from its beginnings in the late 1940's. Some of its many innovations were podded engines mounted below and forward of the wing to reduce drag. Swept wings to increase its speed and yaw dampers to compensate for dutch roll brought on by the swept wings. Flexable wings as opposed to rigid.

I suggest watching the movie "Strategic Air Command" with James Stewart (filmed 1955?) in beautiful color to see these planes in action (as well as the B36) to gain an appreciation.

In my opinion, the B-47 Stratojet is probably one of the MOST influential airplanes ever built.

Its highly-aerodynamic design with thin, sweptback wings and podded jet engine mounts influenced the design of most of the world's modern jetliners today.
