Su-27's prototype T-10.

Latest modifications include Su-30, -33, 33KUB, 35. The latest one is Su-37. It is the best and most manouevriable fighter in the world.

The Suhkoi is a familiy of powerful fighter aeroplanes. No other airforce on the planet has anything to match a Su-37. I'm not saying this because I am Russian but because this is a fact.

Don't forget the experimental aircraft called S-37 - with forward swept wings. Now that looks great!

What's up with the SU-34 (aka SU-32FN/SU-27IB/SU-27KM-2)?
Last time I checked there were only 3 aircraft built, have they built any more of those? Does the Russian Air Force have any in service? Any other news about this aircraft?

Anyways, let's face it, the S-37 and the MiG 1.44 will never be operational fighters. The SU-37 has more chances of entering service because it is based on a well established platform, and it can actually use weapons. But with Russia's financial situation even the SU-37 may never enter service.

Like the other Russian manufacturers what
Sukhoi badly need is money to develop these aircraft. But what they also badly need are orders, which look to be few and far between at the moment.

Without both of these things are not looking good for Sukhoi. Are they part of the group that re joing together to promote and design Russian aircraft??

India has made a large order for Su-30's.

Currently there are just 10-20 in service out of 40 ordered. (Incidentally, these Sukhois are stationed at the Air force base in Pune, my city).

200-300 more Su-30's will be produced locally under license at the HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd) aircraft factory at Nashik in Western India.

The Russians meanwhile are developing a new version of the Su-30 to meet specific needs of the Indian Air Force. This is being tentatively called the Su-30MKI (I for India). This version features vectored thrust technology. The Su-30's currently in service will be upgraded to the MKI std as well.

In the future will su-27 be upgraded with TV- satrun ljulka engines and better cockpit. They aren't planing to buy any new sukhoi, which were prooved to be good, but too expensive. Only other eastern countries will buy new planes.
