Hi!

Mine is no doubt the RC-121 Warning Star, beautifull with that dark grey painting.

Hi Chdmcmanus!

I'm glad that you also like the "Tripple Tail"!!! I think I got this due to the fact that my first "foggy" recall of an airplane was a TAP L1049G when I was 4 or 5 in Lisbon airport. TAP bought 3 new L1049G82's in 1955 without tip-tanks and weather radar ( CS-TLA/TLB and TLC ). In 1959 TAP leased during one year a L1049H from Seaboard & Western, also without tip-tanks and weather radar ( CS-TLD ). In 1961 TAP bought 2 more second hand L1049G82 ex: THAI / Aerovias Guest - Mexico, these had tip-tanks and weather radar, at the same time TAP converted the 3 factory Supers with Bendix weather radar. Those beauties left TAP during 1967, and that's why I became fan of this aircraft. In TAP the L1049 was called "Super". I hope you enjoy this information regarding a less know operator of the Super Constellation. If you need further information regarding the portuguese ones please let me know.
regards.

SR-71--a classic "before it's time" aircraft from Kelly Johnson and the Lockheed "Skunk Works".

Does the RQ-4A Global Hawk count?
(wanted to post a picture, but it's too big. Go to there if you don't know the Global Hawk: http://www.af.mil/photos/Oct1999/991973a.jpg)

If it doesn't count I'd say the Blackbird.

Jet Blue I am not sure the E-6 series is in the surveillance business...it replaced the EC-135's ensuring we can launch ICBM missiles in the event our land-based sites were hit by an aggressor, (E-6B) also to communicate with our submarines, (E-6A) the purpose being to provide a secure missile launch capability.....however if one of you're favorites is the last of the 707 series the E-6's are mine too.

Does the U2 or TR 1 come into this category, if so, then there my pick, but the RC-121 is no dout a beautiful aircraft.

Interesting category. If you're including the SR-71 and U-2, I'll have to go with them. Other favorites would include the RF-104, RF-8, and RF-101.
